MUST READ for EVERYONE
My father heard stories of hunting big cats, wild birds, wild boars etc from his grandfather (my great grandfather), who used to be a hunter in the sprawling tea garden jungles of Upper Assam. And THIS book along with "The Temple Tiger And More Man-Eaters of Kumaon" and "The Man-Eating Leopard of Rudraprayag" were part of his collection back in the 1950's. My dad read them as a young boy and has been fascinated by Indian wildlife, particularly big cats. He passed this interest to me and finally at the age of 30, I took the step to order the 3 books and I am so glad I did! It is a fantastic read. Jim Corbett's style of writing puts you next to him as he goes on his hunts in the regions of Kumaon in Uttarakhand. The style of writing is easy to read, even for early teens. Both the books - "Man-Eaters of Kumaon" and "The Temple Tiger And More Man-Eaters of Kumaon" are subdivided into different stories of different hunts. They have around 5-6 different hunts each bringing its own excitement and adventure for the reader to get drowned into.Quality of the book is good. I ordered the paperback version and the pages are thick and print quality is decent. I am extremely happy with the decision of buying these 3 books. I hope to one day pass them on to my children and grandchildren and keep the legacy of these great books alive in my family for generations to come!

Jim Corbett: Tracker, Conservationist, Legend.
Jim Corbett's legacy as a tracker, conservationist, and author is nothing short of remarkable. His gripping accounts of hunting man-eating tigers and leopards in the Indian subcontinent, as documented in books like 'Man-Eaters of Kumaon' and 'Jungle Lore,' have captivated readers for generations. But Corbett was more than just a hunter; he was a passionate advocate for wildlife conservation. His tireless efforts to protect India's wildlife and establish national reserves, including the iconic Jim Corbett National Park, stand as a testament to his dedication and love for nature. Corbett's work continues to inspire conservationists around the world, making him a true legend in the field of wildlife conservation. His contributions to both literature and conservation will be remembered for years to come.

A great read for all animal lovers!
with a price under Rs.250; this is a must-buy. Short stories are easy to read and quite engaging. Especially when you think of the time period when these events took place. Killing tigers or per se any wild animal is not desirable in any circumstances; however, we are talking about a time which is 100 years back. A great read for everyone and a must buy.

Thrilling stories of hunting tigers by a great teller
Jim Corbett was equally a great story teller as he was hunter. This book outlines stories of him hunting man-eating tigers during 20s-30s in India

Jim Corbett was a man of great courage and sheer will power
A modern reader, an animal lover might take it as an offence to animals as a whole but when u consider the circumstances which we are talking about a century ago, u may understand the why this man killed those cats. A shiver goes through your spine just imagining yourself in his boots in those deep forests which ware far from civilization. Even a 100 years later, ie now, you wouldn't dare go to such forests( eventhough most of it is history now).It shows the constant struggle our forefathers had when they had to fight their way up with the nature. A true legend when it comes to hunting and tracking animals and quite brilliant when it comes to the knowledge of forest and animal behaviour, Jim Corbett already knew a hundred years ago, what we now have learned through the tv channels and YouTube. Most of the cats mentioned in the book, whom he hunted down are at the top of list of the most dangerous animals that ever lived. From a man who was forced to take his gun and go up against the deadliest of the predators, not because he loved hunting but since he had stomachs to fill makes him one among the few with balls of steel I ever came across. The 4 starts instead of 5 is obviously coz I am an animal lover but still I have given him 4 because like today it was near to impossible to catch these cats alive.
