Far and away the best ball inflation device I've ever used!
This is the best ball pump I have ever used. I especially love how the air flows into the ball with both directions the handle is manipulated; in other words, pulling AND pushing the handle both inflate the ball, cutting inflation time down, as well as not wasting any energy in working the handle. Functions like a dream. The pressure gauge is tricky to use, but is accurate within a single PSI, but it is exceedingly difficult to measure fractions of a PSI.Other reviews docked points alleging that the needle pokes through their bag, or is damaged. The needle should NEVER be left on the pump for multiple reasons. Installing the needle takes a few seconds. All that is involved is to screw off the hard plastic retaining ring, feed the threaded part of the needle in the rubber saddle, and replace the plastic retaining ring. Anyone leaving the needle on isn't really thinking this thing through. If you care about ball sports enough to buy a ball pump, it behooves one to learn to take care of it. Changing the needle in this pump is a breeze compared to the old pumps of yesteryear. (See photo detailing needle change procedure)There is a release valve for if you realize you've overinflated and need to bleed off some pressure. The whole pump is very compact, 8.75" long.OVERALL: A+PROS:+ Pressure gauge is accurate to within a single PSI+ Inflates on both push & pull of the handle+ Pressure release valve+ Incredibly easy to install, change or remove needle+ Easy to pumpCONS:- None

Great value
We bought this for my son’s science fair project and it worked great! Great price too. Easy to use.

Loved it until...
Great little pump. I'm a soccer coach, and end up pumping up about 2 to 4 balls each practice except the first one of the season in which I pump up about 12. Proper inflation is more important than most folks think. If it's Too soft the Ball won't show power. If it's too firm the ball will hurt the kids and still won't show good power. This pump has a nice gauge to get u where the ball needs to be. It is well designed, a nice compact size, easy to read gauge, and fairly comfortable grip, and needle/ head angle. The needle inverts for storage into the head. My only complaint is that the collar that holds the needle and gasket broke. So I used electrical tape to help hold it and seal it with fair results. And then I lost it. So even though it has a flimsy collar, I'm buying a second one since I liked it so much before I broke the collar. I'll re-in force this one before I break it.

Works well, but the pressure gauge is imprecise
This ball pump is well-built and easy to use, but it has a couple of design flaws that keep it from achieving five-star status.First, the needle jolts out at an angle from the handle/body of the pump. This is presumably so that the pressure gauge is more easily readable when filling a ball. However, that makes storage and transit of the pump more difficult than it should be, because it can't be tossed into a gym bag without it poking at the sides. And since there's no built-in storage, you can't really remove the needle.Second, it's hard to achieve precise ball pressure because the gauge is small and the increments are close together. In other words, it's easy to fill a ball to 7 or 8 lbs. of pressure, but almost impossible to get it to 7.5. This might not matter for most customers, but it's a big deal if you're a moderately serious athlete who wants to make sure their ball is properly inflated.

It's working...
I removed the little tube adapter, I just put the needle straight on the tip, easier to fill a ball that way, just wish it has a place to store the needle so you can just throw in the bag and not break the tip... But we have a box of them, they're so cheap, I just put extra needles in her bag. The weak point is probably the plastic tip that holds the needle, wish it was more solid... I've only used it twice so far... But gauge seems to work, soccer balls have a psi recommendation by the hole, I fill to that psi, and feels good.

Great pump with bonus features. Same flaws as other pumps.
Pros:- Dual action pumping is real a thing (2x faster) Wish we had that on pumps when I was a kid.- Needle storage (pump is useless if you break your needle or forget the needle at home)- Good rubber gasket (no leaks)Cons:- The flexible tip feature means that the needle is secured ONLY with the rubber gasket, and the pump has no hard plastic threading matching the needle's outer radius. IE: If you pull the pump out too hard, the needle will stay stuck in the ball, and you will lose all of your PSI and have to start over. Honestly feels like manufacturers have never used their products before. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.Pretty sure they could have easily fixed this by making the securing washer have a slightly smaller opening, but I guess they can't be bothered, lol.

Makes it easier to pump!
Decided to play with a basketball, and needed to pump it up. The Franklin Sports Ball Pump had what I needed for a cheap price. Could of gotten a cheaper pump, but would have to guess how much air to put in the basketball. With the pressure gauge I could pump to the right amount, instead of having the chance of over inflating.
