Too small
My daughter wears a size 13 so I ordered a size 1.5 thinking that would be safe. Nope. Too small. Very cute shoe though.

Size up 2-3 sizes
The character shoes are great if you can figure out what size to order. It took us 3 tries to get it right. My daughter wears a 2-2.5 in big kid sizes and we ordered a 2.5 initially thinking you order your shoe size. Wrong. It was WAY too small. I read a few more reviews and the second time we went 2 sizes up and ordered a 4. It was still too small. We barely squeezed her foot into the shoe and it was painful for her to walk in because it was too tight. We returned that pair and got a 5. The 5 fits a bit too large so a 4.5 probably would have been perfect but since her feet are still growing we are keeping the 5. My advice is to go 2.5-3 sizes larger than they wear and hope for the best!

Buy them 1-2 sizes bigger—RUN WAY SMALL AND RETURNS ARE COSTLY
I bought a size up for my daughter. Still too small. She wears a 12-12.5 and the 13 was a waste. The 1 barely fits and we will need new ones by the time of the dance. Plus they make you pay to ship them back when they should put that the sizes are too small. Everyone in our class ordered and all were ridiculously small. Some swapped around in class. We got stuck with the older pair as trying to wait to get them to pay shipping we missed the return deadline. Very ridiculous. Plus they are narrow.

These shoes run small
Just a heads up for parents, my daughter uses a 2 youth in regular street shoes, I had to buy a 3.5 youth for my daughter. Her feet are a bit wide, we tried the 3 youth and it was very tight and it could've been due to that. The shoes are a bit narrow compared to other brands, which is good for kids with narrow feet. For these types of shoes (character shoes) the youth sizes don't go beyond size 3 or 3.5, but be aware that going to a 4 in women's size will be different because women's sizes run differently than youth's. If they had a size 4 Youth and size 4 Women's, the size 4 Youth style shoe would be bigger. For this reason, when purchasing for a child in a woman's size, I had to go to a 4.5 women's for my daughter (vs a 3.5 in youth).Another thing to keep in mind is that each brand runs differently, we tried a women's 4 in a different brand and it was big for her. My advise to you is that if you buy one size in a particular brand, and it doesn't fit, order up or down from the same brand to find consistency. Otherwise it will be very hard to find a match for your child.

Capezio sizing is NOT street shoe sizing
First, My daughter never tried on the size 3.5 because a pair of ladies' high heeled boots was sent erroneously. We were in a time crunch, so I ordered the 3 which had Prime shipping. The comments of other customers made me wary, but the size chart led me to believe a 3 might fit my size 2 (street shoe) daughter. Not even close. These shoes run at least 2 1/2 sizes smaller than a street shoe, not the one or one and half many other customers suggested. I try to average all comments when purchasing. DO NOT DO that in this case. Order at least 2 1/2 to 3 sizes larger. The shoes are well made, comfortable and sized in dance shoe sizing....we are now retuning a size 4 as it is still too small and hoping the 4.5 will in fact arrive today and will fit. Our show is in 7 days! My daughter has a narrow foot and again, wears a 2 and a 4 M is too small.
