Great Modem Comcast/Xfinity
Great modem. I picked it up on a lightning deal. After reading reviews I was a little hesitant. However I have had no overheating issues and no connectivity issues. When running speed tests I am getting getting the speeds that I'm paying for. My service provider is Comcast/ Xfinity. Please note that when dealing with Comcast you may have to go to tier 2 tech support to get it connected because they hate when you use your own equipment as they lose the monthly equipment lease fee. They will claim that your modem is broken, do not listen to them demand to speak with tier 2 tech support.

Intel Puma 6 chipset included = Issues with online gaming and streaming media
Avoid this product like the plague. It houses the Intel Puma 6 Chipset, which Intel has already admitted there was a flaw with.Long story short, intermittent processes within the modem choke the CPU which causes packet loss. Thus leading to issues with online gaming and streaming.Don't believe any nonsense about a provider being able to "fix" the problem. Modem's operate with an SDK(systems development kit). The profile your ISP sends to it, communicates with the SDK, it doesn't change it.Stick with your old modem or buy one that doesn't have this chipset.

(Old) Linksys CM100 vs (New) Linksys CM3008
Great little cable modem for the price. I had an older Linksys CM100 DOCSIS 2.0 cable modem, which was great for its time, but needed to be replaced. I have Comcast who kept telling me to upgrade my cable modem, but I never listened for the longest time. Ran a few internet speed tests and I was getting 34-35 on DL and 8 on UL on the CM100. Now comes in the CM3008, hook this bad boy up, which is very simple, and call Comcast to give them the new MAC address for the new modem. After a half hour with a Tech, they inputted the new MAC address, registered the modem, and synced it. Got off the phone and ran another internet speed test and got 90 on DL and 12 on UL.Moral of the story.....if you have an old cable modem (DOCSIS 2.0) and you are aware that your internet provider is wanting you to upgrade to 3.0.....DO IT!!!!! You will enjoy much better speeds!

Plug and Play / BETTER THAN RENTING HARDWARE
I plugged it in then attached my Linksys AC1750 Dual-Band router. clicked on my network tag and signed in. easily set my network name and password.automatically updated quickly (10 seconds) then I was up and running. My internet is set at 400 Mbps. (Megabits (Mbps) not Megabytes (MBps))I ran a speed test using wireless and wired and both were over 300 Mbps download and over 100 Mbps upload.for those of you that don't understand the information here let me put it in Lay terms. Most people need 10-20 Mbps for 1 or more people in the home for internet and streaming. For gaming, it's a safe bet to have 25 Mbps or more but not necessary. This Modem and and router combination give me exponentially more than what I need. I got the 4 year warantees which make me feel safe with this INVESTMENT!buy these now. You totally won't regret it. They look sleek. Feel great. Sturdy. The LED's are not too bright and I don't notice them when I'm sleeping despite them being at the same height as my bed. 10/10 would buy again.

so great! The MODEM has a large
So far, so great! The MODEM has a large, well-ventilated case, which seems to eliminate the need for a cooling fan. While other reviews mention having heat issues, doing a big file download and streaming some HD TV simultaneously produced almost no heat at all from the top of this unit.As far as performance goes, I have the "Up to 100 Mbps" service from Spectrum. Speed tests consistently show 115 Mbps download, and 11.3 upload. I don't know how much of this is "raw" speed vs MODEM enhanced, but I'm happy with it. FWIW, I do know that my old TWC/Spectrum service with the same MODEM and cabling was "Up to 15 Mbps", and it generally tested at 25 up and 2.5 down. Based on this, and if my math is correct, my "raw" speed is about 70 Mbps with a 45 Mbps improvement by the MODEM.

Increases internet speed
I ordered this product to access faster internet browsing speeds for my home network. Before I had an average modem from a well-known company paired with a very high performing router, yet I was extremely disappointed with the wireless speed. Especially since I had purchased the faster internet package from my ISP. So I upgraded to this modem. It has performed extremely well. The internet browsing speeds are noticeably faster. For example, there is almost zero lag time to start a youtube video, whereas before there would be a few seconds of loading/buffering. But this modem as ensuring an almost seamless experience. I highly recommend this product for those individuals who want to get the most out of their internet. It is pointless to pay for a high-speed connection to only be held back by your own equipment.
