Value for money.
I been looking for a magnifying glass to see and clean electrical chipsets... returned a few for several reasons... this I kept... clarity is wonderful... you just have balance distance between your eye lens and object which is around 1 inch give or take... and overall built feels quiet sturdy... good balance between a cheap low quality product and a branded expensive one...3 Battries AAA side not included... good for me as I use rechargeable battries... lens can be opened like screw for regular cleanup... contains decent pouch to store.Overall a budget good quality magnifying glass for beginners and occasional use.

Can't close it when batteries are in it.
This would probably work wonderfully for me while grocery shopping if I could close the lid. If I take the batteries out it closes fine, put the batteries in - nada. It didn't go flying across the office floor cuz I'm returning it. And yes, I have been trying for >15 minutes - the batteries are as secure as they can be and it actually works if I press the two sides together.

This magnifier is as described and a nice unit overall to use for very small embossing or anything under a millimeter in size.
