If you care to understand what made this country great, read this book. The dedication J.P. had to trying to develop this nation into the powerhouse it became is fascinating.Mr. Mooers did a great job of getting down to the man behind this money and power. You felt like you know the man who had a heart for the poor, a dedication to making things right, and a disdain for those who were out only for themselves.I recommend this book to anyone who loves history and is interested in the development of our great nation.

Gift to my father. He did not care for the way it was written in a confusing manner.Said it jumped around alot and left sections out. Had too many people added in and out of the storyline.

J.P. is one of the most interesting books that I have read in a very long time. Author, John Mooers, has brought the life of financier, J.P. Morgan, into fine focus, through his clear writing style and descriptions so realistic, that after reading this book, I felt as though I knew J.P. Morgan personally. Far from being a dry retelling of historical facts, this book reads like a cliff-hanging novel, where you have to keep reading to see how everything ends. I hope that J.P. is the first in a long series of books to be written by this author.
