Is there a difference between cooking in a regular cast iron fry pan and a enamel coated cast iron fry pan...is one better than the other?

You can use the enameled version on an electric cook top. I wouldn't use the enameled version on a campfire. I wouldn't say one is better than the other, just different. It also depends on what you want to cook. I would use enameled cast iron for a more wet application...gumbo, caramalized onions, pork chops and applesauce. I would also deep fry in it. Cast iron skillets are for steaks, bacon, and hamburgers. If you have a gas stove and can utilize either.

What is the oven safe temperature limit on this dutch oven?

Instructions say, "Stainless knobs and cookware are oven safe to 500°F."
