just another no end cap filter
Don't like what Toyota did with this filter design. Don't trust the ends of the pleats being simply glued together as opposed to being firmly sealed in an end cap. Sadly, it seems that many brands that used to use end caps and quality paper have switched over to the capless toyota design with ordinary looking filter paper. Purolator used to use end caps with decent looking paper and advertised their filtering specs right on the box. Now that they have joined the cheap capless crowd, I noticed that nowhere on the box do they brag about their filtering specs. Mobile one filters did the same thing - went from a quality filter paper with end caps to a cheap capless design with ordinary paper. Think Fram has done it also. Many who have been burned by this think they are getting counterfeit filters. I'm not so sure - I tend to think the companies doing this are just increasing their profits by building a cheaper product and selling it for the same price. So, I shopped locally, where I could open the box and see what was actually inside. Notice the WIX filter pictured. End caps with much better looking quality paper. But notice, this is the Wix XP line. The standard wix line is the same plain paper capless design. Also, Amazon claims this filter does not fit my Rav4. They are wrong, it does. For the many who have been misled by Amazon fitment proclamations, the best solution is to look up filter fitment right on the company site - Wix, Purolator, Mobile one, Fram, you get the point. Or use a car parts site to do the same. A tiny bit of research and cross checking can save you some grief.

Comparing Purolator, K&N, and OEM
Bought these three filters for our RX350.Purolator - 56 pleats; 59mm OD; Made in USDenso - 50 pleats; 69mm OD; Made in ChinaK&N - 43 pleats; 69mm OD; Made in KoreaOEM - 46 pleats; 69mm OD; Made in ThailandThe Purolator is significantly smaller then OEM but makes up for it in #of pleats. However, the Purolator has white felt material at the ends - the fibers appear to detach easily, and I don't like that. It also is not put together sell; the pleats are glued at an angle. I don't think I'll buy another cartridge Purolator filter.

O-Ring Diameter! LEAKS OIL.
Dont trust this filter! O-rings TOO SMALL. Oil leakes from vehicle. Compared factory toyota o-rings, to the o-rings that come with this filter, & these are a smaller diameter. Oil leaked from filter onto driveway. When I put the factory Toyota o-rings back in, the filter does not leak. If you buy this filter...RE-USE YOUR FACTORY O-Ring. (Inspect for nicks/cuts, brittleness.)

Won't be purchanaing again
I recently just did my second oil change with this filter, which means I got to see how the first one held up. Not good. The fins were not at all evenly spaced. The new filter also had a string of glue hanging off of it... Glad I caught it before it went to through the engine.Mine DIDNT have the blue caps showed in the image and I bought it from a third party seller so there's a tiny chance it was a fake
