They really stick to your pedals!
First pair of such cycle shoes. Could not believe how well they work. Felt like magic at first. If you are using normal sneakers/runners this is a serious upgrade.

Five Ten, Freerider

Excellent MTB shoes
These are the ones you're looking for. Exceptional grip. Durable. Run true to size. Look great.Depending on the brand, sizing can vary a bit. I usually prefer size 9.5 in most major brands, including vans, Nike, and keen. For these 510's, I ordered size 9.5 and they fit perfectly. They are comfortable when riding. I think most people should order their usual size. If you are in between half sizes (for example in the range of 9.0 to 9.5) , I would suggest the larger end of your size range (e.g. 9.5).Previously I had been riding with vans pro skate shoes, which were pretty good for flat MTB pedals (Kona Wah Wahs). But these 510 pros grip even better than my vans. Truly impressive grip. Almost sticky! My feet have not slipped off the pedals a single time, while going over lots of chunky rocks and roots in western NC. Like they are locked in.Some reviews says these 510's don't hold up. I have put hundreds of miles on these over 3 months of riding, and I see barely any wear. I will update if any issues. I expect these to last. The synthetic upper handles water very well. No soggy feeling with these pros. They shed water and stay relatively dry.I got the black shoes, and they look great. I'm not a fan of lots of colors and patterns ony shoes. These have a clean stealthy look.Overall these are great MTB shoes for flat pedals. Highly recommended.

long-term review from a hard rider
ah man, I have some mixed feelings about this shoe, most of them good though. i'll start with the good.first of all, i've put this thing through it's paces. used for a whole season at Highland Mountain Bike Park, and I did not go easy on these things.first of all, the grip is just unbeatable. the dotty sole man, I don't know what kinda magic hocus-pocus is on this thing, but my feet stay PLANTED. not much to say, except these things will absolutely stay hooked like your ex-girlfriend to my Deity TMACs.insoles aren't bad, they have decent arch support. could probably be little softer but for hard enduro/DH riding, they're comfortable. i'd remove them for washing because the foam underneath traps a lot of dirt.toe box protects your toes really well. it's super stiff and i've taken some rock/branch strikes with no problem. it's stiff yet strangely supple, and my toes don't hurt after a day of riding which is a HUGE plus on my part. after a whole year, I don't have any soft spots, but it's starting to crack at the crease point. not too big of a deal, just aesthetically unpleasing.I swapped the laces out for some Vans skate laces because the old ones get chewed up easily (thank you chainring), and it's honestly worth it. they look better and aren't stretchy like the stock ones, so they're less likely to get caught. I think I got 52" laces for size 8.5, and they're the perfect length.my main ick is the durability. ever since Adidas bought them out, their quality isn't bad, but it used to be a lot better. after one season, the soles are absolutely chewed up, and my pedal managed to rip a chunk out of the sole revealing the rubber beneath it. the moulded upper has some cracking around the crease point and is starting to separate from the lower. the insoles are completely intact however, so that's a plus. i'm still riding them out until they fall apart, but keep in mind these would realistically only last you one season.by the way, these shoes fit TTS. they will stretch a bit after a few months.overall man, i'd give them a 4/5 star rating, and i'm a harsh judge. there's no doubt about it; these are the grippiest low flat shoes out there. this next season i'm moving to Impact Pros because they look a little more rugged. cheers.

The best shoe for nonclip pedals
Love these shoes. Perfect for nonclip pedals as the sole really stick. Also like the look of the shoes and the firm sole

Fit is too small but otherwise a good shoe
I'm not going to deduct any stars because of this, but just be aware that these shoes fit smaller than the size would indicate. My size 10.5 is really more like a 10. They are too narrow and too short. My orthotic inserts barely fit in them, which is a clear indication that the shoes are undersized. All that said, they appear durable and work quite well. They work much better than the sneakers I was wearing and they grip the platform pedals much better. I bought them about 9 months ago and they have worked well. The are not as comfortable as they would be if the manufacturer had not undersized them. I was actually going to order a size 11, but I see that the price has gone up from $76 to $101, so I'll have to re-evaluate and compare with other offerings currently available. At the time, the price was very competitive.
