Another masterpiece from YarrosA
Another masterpiece from Rebecca Yarros. This is a beatiful story about love, family, grief and guilt.. second chances and the importance of being able to make your own decisions. The writing is amazing, the story unique. I LOVE military romance and Rebecca Yarros is the queen of it. I don't know how she does it but she creates the best fictional men. 100% reccommend.

Beautiful, Sad, and Heartwarming!
I wanted to cry just a few pages in!Rebecca Yarros has done it again and I’m not mad! She broke my heart and put it back together in a way only she can!I wanted to hug and protect Camden with my life and love him for him! I’m just glad that since I can’t Willow did! I highly recommend this book, it has all the feels and will have you feeling so deeply for the main characters! I was also sooo upset at a few scenes but the characters were misled.

Loved it!!
Great and Precious Things is a new standalone book by Rebecca Yarros. This book is about Camden who has always been the black sheep of his family but also of Elba, the town where he grew up. 6 years ago he came back from war with his little brother in a coffin. Nobody could forgive him, especially not his dad. He left and swore he would never come back. But now his father needs him. And he needs to go home. Home where the one person lives he still loves, Willow. The one woman he can never have.I loved Willow and Camden. Camden had my heart from the first page. As always the writing was amazing. I loved the story, the characters, everything.

Emotional and hard hitting - absolutely loved it!
This is my first book by Rebecca Yarros individually – I’ve read and loved the collaboration she did with Jay Crownover titled Girl in Luv and Boy in Luv – and this definitely won’t be my last. I was drawn into the story by the premise alone, and thank God I signed up to read this one because I fell in love with this book from the get-go.This story is absolutely beautiful. From the first few chapters, I was pulled into this deeply emotional plot centered around a man who comes back home after being gone for 10 years to a father and town who blames him for his younger brother’s death and girl he loves but feels he can never have. There’s something about plots that center around the military that really get to me because as soon as we learn about how this younger brother died or mentioned his death, I was in tears. It’s hard not to get emotional about the fact this family is broken apart by war, guilt, regret and disease, and it keeps you reading until the very end. There are many side characters in this story as the author makes you feel immersed in this small town, getting to know all the unique characters that standout in towns this size – from the kooky to the grumpy, we’ve experienced them all.I think Cam has become one of my favorite characters I’ve read about because he’s a character filled with the need to protect the ones he loves and his family always comes first. He stands up for what he believes in no matter who people think of him and what the consequences will be, he knows what has to be done. He’s the “black sheep” of his family and of the town he calls home. He has such an emotional and realistic character arc in this novel, watching has he learns to forgive himself for decisions he’s made and open himself up to love.Willow is a breath of fresh air. She’s a woman who is strong and independent, and believes in following her heart no matter what people think of her decisions. I loved watching her step up to her father and her hometown about her feelings toward the younger Daniels brothers and it really just made her the absolute perfect match for Cam.Watching them figure out all the long, complicated history between themselves and their town and grow together as problems arise was beautiful. It pulled at your heartstrings as these two people, who have known each other almost their whole lives, navigate grief, guilt and forgiveness and learn to love again.
