They are made of some very thick plastic and has the capability to be sealed. They have a horizontal orientation. I used them for a Summer Camp that I was running and the name tags came out awesome. I used them with name badges that I created from a 2" x 3-1/2" template and they fit perfect. They looked awesome if I do say so myself. It was easy to load the name badges into the sleeves and they did noit slide after they were put in them. The sleeves were reasonably priced and I am glad that I purchased them.

**Q: Will the avery name badge inserts, (5390), fit in these?  the diagram shows 2.4 l but the description says 2.2 l.  which one is correct?**
A: I used the Avery 5390 inserts in these holders and they fit great.

**Q: What grade level is this plastic?**
A: I don’t know but it’s durable and waterproof.

**Q: how do the metal badge clips affix the plastic sleeves to one's clothes?**
A: You need to extra purchase a reel, lanyard or clip. The lanyards, which drape around the neck. The clip to grab onto person's clothes.

**Q: Can you use a safety pin to attach tag to your clothing?**
A: I would not recommend attaching a safety pin to these, they are made of thick plastic and they wouldn’t hang right if you are using the provided holes at the top.
