Such an awesome story about carving a home out of the wilderness. Many of us have dreamed about doing it, but he made it happen.

Inspiring, motivating and authentic. A slightly more modern version of One Man’s Wilderness and one I’ll read again. It is nice to know the good guy wins.

Easy to follow and read. Ended a little abruptly for me but I enjoyed the journey very much. Can't imagine that level of cold for that long of a time. Thank you for you story Jason!!

A step by step narrative of survival and building a homestead solo over a period of several years in the deep wilderness. Very interesting and powerful story.

Jason is about as real a person as can be. He's honest and hardworking. His endurance and love for what he does is just amazing. And his love for his dogs and respect for all animals and the land.. I loved reading his books. And they are written so that you don't have to read them in order. In fact I read them from last to first. I'm sorry to be finished reading these so you know that's when you found a good read!

I did not want the book to end so I am very happy to know there are two more books that continue the story of Jason 's life in Alaska and his self discoveries. His positive outlook and hard work is so inspiring. Jade also presents his life story with perfection.

A good look into a mans struggle with a Alaska homestead. Such a sad set of circumstances has him fleeing into the wilderness, his fortitude and love of nature and true grit have him successfully negotiate the life of a off the grid man on his own land. Dogs fill his life and memories of the past bubble up. Hopefully his future story has a good outcome.

I read this book in just two sittings so I think you can say I found it extremely interesting. I’m totally amazed at all of his skills, and what it takes to live this kind of life. Looking forward to the next book.

What a wonderful story about someone starting out in the Alaskan Bush. The first couple years must have been very tough. I am surprised Jason hung in there. Great reading and hard to stop!

I like that the author talks about the things he likely isn't proud off to still come through his adversity with determination and grit.

*Amazing book* I was looking for interesting life stories not only telling romantic tales on homesteading but the hardship it brings with it to life such a life. This is about a man, a real man who suffered, loved, lived and survived to built his dream.. Great piece to read!

I really liked this book and I’m looking forward to reading #2 in the series...I wish I could communicate with Jason as I like how he thinks...we could be pen pals...anyways great book...👍👍from Australia 🇦🇺
