We live in the country where it is quite dusty so must clean it often. I finally bought new replacements as was getting difficult to clean the old one. Getting worn out. This replacement pack of 3 will probably last me at least 5 years and probably a lot longer. **Q: Are theses bran new (unused)?** A: Yes, they are new and work fine. **Q: How often do the pre-filters need to be replaced?** A: Depends on your usage if you’re using them on a weekly basis then I would highly recommend changing them every three months. You can wash them out but they are never the same for the cost I would just replace them **Q: (manufacturer), is this a hepa filter? if so, why not say so on your sales page?** A: I don’t think it’s a hepa filter. Also, I tried washing one and it dried smelling really bad and mildewy.
