A treasure
This is an extremely valuable book for Tintin fans as well as people who wishes to master slang without using them. This book is more than just an extension to the "Tell me why?" series, you know what I mean. By the way, my age is 52 years and I loved it.

It will brighten up your day
The book is extremely funny in nature. The author and the illustrator has built this brilliant concoction of a book where we Get deja vu of the brilliant tintin times and also get familiarised again with captain Haddock's vocabulary. The book is focused on alphabetically telling us about the colourful vocabulary of the captain but the tintin and illustrations of other characters is what makes it a perfect and short read.

Really nice book
I really like this book. Even without a tintin interest it is full of facts about all sort of things mentioned by haddock though the tintin series. It’s small but just right and will look nice next to my box set of paperbacks.

Captain Haddock’s Comical Curses And More…
If you, like me, remember reading the exciting adventures of Tintin, then you will love this amusing hardback book on Blistering Barnacles An A-Z of the rants and rages of Captain Haddock written by Albert Algoud, published by Farshore. It’s a alphabetical collection of the Captain’s insults with full descriptions, quite a few could be used today towards some of the high and not so mighty 😁 Though Captain Haddock’s bitterness towards poor old Snowy in The Shooting Star, having forced him to become vegetarian seems an odd insult these days more a healthier life choice today 😁 I think my favourite insult from Captain Haddock has to Slubberdegul-lion this being a filthy, slobbering or slovenly person, not worth bothering with 😂 i shall have incorporate a few these into my vocabulary next time I need to insult someone lol.A fun book that takes me back to my childhood, only now this book makes appreciate the witticisms more as an adult. A good read that deserves to be on any self respecting book shelf.

Hubby loved this!
Excellent quality hard backed book, full of colourful cartoons and easy to read A-Z directory of Captain Haddock rants (insults). This is an 80th anniversary book so it’s an ideal gift for people who enjoyed The Adventures of Tin Tin and Captain Haddock. I’m reviewing this based on the quality of the book and the enjoyment my husband got from it. Honestly, I couldn’t see anything very offensive when I flicked through it, but I wouldn’t buy it for anyone who hadn’t enjoyed the original cartoons either. This has a niche market and it’s a character that’s 80 years old. I saw plenty of everyday comments I heard growing up that weren’t meant to be offensive then, they were said in jest. My dad affectionally called us ‘nincompoops’ (I’m 50), no insult meant. I detested Tin Tin but my 60 year old husband loved it, the book put a smile on his face - his 90 year old father also loves it.
