Nice but no real packaging
This is great but I couldn’t give it as a gift in the package it arrived in. The plastic wrapping had the Amazon barcode slapped on it. Had to remove the items & create new packaging.

Very stiff!
It was very stiff so it didn’t form to my head and would fall loose while sleeping.

Great heat-free curls
Once I got the hang of it (there are countless video examples out there), this has become a part of my routine. It takes the hassle out of styling my hair in the morning, and I love that I get long-lasting curls without using damaging heat. Sleeping with it in my hair can be a bit cumbersome, but I'm pretty much used to it now. Whenever I finally wear this one out, I will definitely be buying another!

Takes a lot of practice.
So I’ve noticed a few things when using this curler.First- the curler doesn’t stay in place even if you leave the hair clip attached. I have used it before bed and in the morning where I would wear it during the day without laying my head on a pillow and it still slides back on my head.Secondly- My hair doesn’t stay securely wrapped. When I first wrap my hair around the curler, it will be nice and tight but as it dries, the hair at the top starts to loosen so my hair only gets curled really well at mid shaft on down.Third- There are no instructions provided with it so unless you do some searches online for videos you really are on your own to figure it out. I came back to the product page and the instructions on one of the images only made things more confusing. I ended just trying it different ways to see which way I liked best.I found that having the hair mostly dry before wrapping it allows the hair to dry more quickly so one doesn’t have to wear it as long.I also liked adding in a texture spray after shampooing and conditioning and then wrapping my hair while still wet, sleeping with it wrapped, and then finishing it off in the morning with a medium-to-low hair dry setting also helped.Fourth- The hair ponies that are provided can create marks in the ends of your hair if you don’t quite have your hair wrapped really well at the ends.Overall, I do think this is worth the price I paid for it because if care is taken when the hair is wrapped, the curl is very nice.Tips: I found that using hair clips at the top helped keep the top of the hair wrapped instead of coming loose so I was able to get the curl to start a little higher up than mid-shaft.I also found that using a hair clip helped keep one section of hair from coming loose while wrapping another section of hair until I was ready to add the ponies at the ends.I also found that you don’t want the curler to go straight down the side of your head. You’ll want to start at the top and then go at a slight angle towards the back of your head or the back sections of hair will only be curled at the very ends since most of the hair will just be stretched to reach the curler near the side of the head.I was also never able to get it to work or stay in place by attempting to braid this into the hair as the image suggests.

There's a learning curve
Not sure what the difference is with the many other products that are similar to this one. Mainly bought this one because it was pink and more affordable. Otherwise, I feel like they are all the same. It took me a while to figure out the best way to twist my hair into it and an even longer time to realize it was more comfortable if worn as a "crown" vs to the sides of your head near your temples. I also find that the noodle piece is a bit long. Some weird tricks I learned along the way:1. Fold the ends of the noodles with the included hair tie - fold it along with wrapping hair of course.2. I found that if I put the ends of the noodles together its more comfortable to sleep in BUT the braids can fall apart making the noodle shift.3. I dampened my hair with a spray bottle.4. YouTube videos do help!

Still figuring it out
I haven't QUITE got the hang of it but I think I'm getting there. It's taking some trial and error and watching a lot of tutorials. There is a technique to it. They make it look quite a bit easier to use than it is but that's pretty typical of these hair tools. Over all I'm pleased as it was inexpensive, has held up to my experimenting and my cats thinking it's a toy. It also came with a pink claw clip 2 satin scrunchies and a little floral hairband. The box was nice too. Pretty good value and a good option if you just don't feel like blow drying. I use Paul Frieda sleek and shine on my damp hair, part it in the middle. My curtain bangs look best if I put them in a roller. If I wrap them around the item I don't like how it comes out very flat but with a wave in it. I fasten it to the top gently with the claw clip and then I think it looks best on my hair if I section the length into only 2 sections per side and then BRAID them around. Something about having the twists go in opposite directions make it come out nicer imo.If you are easily frustrated skip it, if you find these things fun to work out like me, go for it.

Not velvet material
It's not velvet. It's not even satin. It's some cheap silk. Plus the headband is missing.

Defective plus...
I found it too big and I have very long hair, doesn't fall straight, instead it moves around a lot Even with the clip, was bent in different areas, was not what I expected.
