Frost King ES184W Weatherseal Replacement, 1/2In Wide x 3/4In Thick x 7Ft Long, White

The media could not be loaded.  Durable material but had to use 4 rolls for 1 standard door because the last 2 feet was crimped and squished due to normal packaging. So 8 total feet was unusable. Easy to install once tacks from old door insulation were removed or squished down. I just ordered 4 more rolls for the standard size front door. Great product overall, no drafts. Luckily I don't have to replace often.

Much better quality over all than the standard weather seal. They arrived quickly, within a couple days of ordering. They are coiled up to tight in to small of a box. I have some compressed sections that I hope expand and relax with time. These sections are so compressed that they are not touching the door at this time, right after install. I had one side of the jamb that was hard to press into place like others have mentioned, but I did get them into place. I was tempted to run a piece of sand paper in the grove to open it up, but it went in. The other sides went in fine. This application was on a set of 42" double doors that face our very strong winds, so I needed a good tight seal. That worked out fine. As I closed the doors for the first time I guided the seal into place with a putty knife, as the doors were starting to pinch the seal. I managed to guide the seal away from the door to avoid pinching it. They are now sitting snug against the door with a much better seal than the original stock seal, except where the packaging pinched them and I'm hoping they relax and expand. For the top seal, on a pair of 42" doors, the 7' length was going to be about an inch short, but I was able to run the sides up past the the header jamb with a little notch in the weather stripping grip edge. This allowed me to overcome the 7' length limit. (Here I am after being installed about a half hour and it looks like the seals are relaxing and expanding into place a little. With a little more time it looks like they may be fine.)

It fits into the same slot the old one did. As far as ease of install, like other reviewers, can get to be a chore. Since it's rolled up in the package, it's going to do everything but be straight and cooperative. I took mine out and laid it flat on the floor and taking the twists out go it. You can use books or something like that to hold it down. After 3 or so hours, it was time to install! At first it was becoming a real PIA. There just had to be a better way. The lightning bolt hit me then. What you want to do is fold it outward away from the door for the section you're pushing into the slot. I used the handle of a butter knife to push the slot in from the "back". When you fold it over away from door, you'll see it's a straight shot all the way down. However... Being that it was rolled up in the package, the width of the sealing part isn't a uniform height. I'm hoping it will "inflate" to an even seal. I think it will but I don't know how long it will take. Knowing me I'll probably encourage it to do it faster.

We ordered wrong kind of door insulation, we’ve replaced it already.

I first used some cheap big box brand and it was junk. Replaced it with Frost King which I found to be of very high quality and it worked perfect - great tight seal, and good strong adhesive backing. I gave it four stars instead of five because I had to order three boxes just to do one regular sized door - there is only 7' of stripping in each box. Come on Frost King, charge more but put enough tape in the box to frame out one standard sized door, having to order three boxes for one door is ridiculous.

This is basically exactly what you'd expect, no problems. The only thing to note is that the white version is a bit translucent - under strong light it can look like there's a gap in the seal when there really isn't. Running a strip of electrical tape down the inside of the fold fixes this and it's completely invisible. It's then much easier to see if you have any gaps.

Works as expected

I removed the old , cut this to length and pressed into place it fit well and the door is making a much better seal.let it warm it up and pull it strait to ease installation. of course I was trying to install it shortly after arriving on zero degree day.it is in a coil give it time to warm up and straiten it out and it goes in easier .

My barn cats scratched on and wrecked my weatherstripping on my front door. This was exactly the same as what they had wrecked! I looked all over the city for this type with no luck. Only place I found it was on Amazon. Cut it to length and put it on in about 5 minutes.

Essential to finding a replacement weather seal is the accuracy of the dimensions and style. It was easy to insert into the slotted door jam and grips tightly into position. Our door was not installed properly and has some gaps. This seal in conjunction with the simply U-shaped style sealed the door nicely and tested well against some recent strong winds.

pretty expensive for a single piece that doesnt seal anything

Great quality weatherstripping. I ordered four of these for two sliding patio doors where the weatherstripping was failing. I needed to modify the existing channel (by ripping a new one on my table saw) but thankfully the strips with the channels were easily removed and replaced (using a crown stapler).
