A very simple tool for grafting honey bee queen larvae.

These are not manufactured to exacting standards, but I found several tools that worked well out of the box and was able to fix another one by lightly sanding the bamboo slip to make it thinner and more flexible. I used the tools I got from Amazon to graft about a hundred queens so far, and I expect to get another season or two out of them.I love this style of grafting tool and have bought them from several beekeeping supply houses, as well as from Amazon, and don't notice any difference in quality - though there often is a difference in price.

Ergonomically its nice and overall well made. The item arrived on time and was packaged well otherwise it would have gotten zero stars. It's cost effective, but not made well for the job. The end needs to be more flexible so it can more easily get under the larvae to scoop it up. I found these to be too stiff and incapable of doing the job.

All were well made, but were too stiff for me. May try to 'hone' them slightly when I have time.

4 were usable as shipped. With a little rearranging 5 out of six were usable. All had various amounts of flex to the tip.

Very cheap had to do some repair right out of the packaging. Will probably try a different product the next time I have purchase.
