ISO100

I’ve been a fan of Dymatize ISO100 Whey Protein Powder Isolate in Gourmet Vanilla (the 20-serving tub, around 1.4-1.6 lbs depending on the pack) for several months now, especially as a reliable, clean post-workout option that doesn’t disappoint on taste or performance. If you’re looking for a straightforward vanilla that mixes into something enjoyable without tasting like “protein powder,” this one’s a winner. The Gourmet Vanilla flavor is one of the best vanilla isolates out there—creamy, smooth, and reminiscent of a light vanilla milkshake or ice cream base, with just the right sweetness (not overly artificial or cloying like some competitors). It has that classic vanilla bean note without a strong chemical aftertaste; many reviewers call it dessert-like, and it blends beautifully into smoothies, oatmeal, or even coffee for a protein boost. I usually mix one scoop with unsweetened almond milk or water in a shaker—dissolves instantly with no clumps, froths up nicely for a creamy texture, and leaves zero grittiness. Key highlights: • 25g protein per scoop from 100% hydrolyzed whey isolate—super fast-absorbing and gentle on the stomach (no bloating or digestive issues for me, even on an empty stomach). • 5.5g BCAAs (including 2.6g leucine) for solid muscle recovery and growth support. • Ultra-clean macros: under 120 calories, 1g fat, 1g sugar, 2g carbs—gluten-free, low-lactose, perfect for cutting phases or anyone watching carbs/sugar. • Mixability is flawless; it’s one of the smoothest proteins I’ve used. I’ve gone through a couple of these tubs quickly because the flavor makes shakes something I actually look forward to—great for breakfast on busy mornings, post-gym recovery, or curbing sweet cravings without junk. It’s Informed-Choice tested for banned substances, adding peace of mind for consistent quality. Only small drawbacks: It’s on the sweeter side (some find it too sweet straight with water; I prefer it diluted or blended), and the premium price (~$30-40 for 20 servings) reflects the hydrolyzed isolate quality—worth it for the purity and taste, but not the cheapest basic whey. If you want less sweetness, the unflavored or other variants might suit better, but Gourmet Vanilla is a top pick for flavored fans. Highly recommend this as a go-to vanilla protein—clean, delicious, and effective. 5 stars—easily one of my favorites for daily use

I've tried quite a few protein powders over the years, and this is one of the best. It mixes really well, is high-quality, and has an excellent protein-to-calorie ratio (25g of protein for just 120 calories). It was recommended to me by my doctor. The Gourmet Vanilla flavor reminds me of vanilla ice cream. It is a little sweeter than I'd personally prefer, but it doesn't have that overly artificial, fake vanilla taste that a lot of protein powders do. Honestly, it's hard to find a protein powder that isn't on the sweet side, and this one gets the balance right. I usually blend it in my stainless steel Blender Bottle (which I've also reviewed) with unsweetened almond milk, a little water, and ice, or even just water when I want to keep things simple. It tastes great either way and blends smoothly. If you're looking for an easy way to increase your protein intake without a lot of extra calories, this is an excellent option. It's become one of my go-to protein powders.

I really like this protein powder! It tastes great, mixes easily, and has a smooth texture. It’s perfect for my daily routine, especially after a workout. I would definitely buy it again

This protein powder taste better than others I have tried. It’s gentle on my stomach and it’s not full of xanthan gum like others. It mixes really well too and it’s creamy. I’ll definitely purchase again.

Mixes well and tastes pretty good. Deducted one star for only being 25g per serving when the bottom end of the recommended intake is 30g per serving. I suspect this was done to get more “servings” out of a container in advertising. Packaging is too big…way too big. It isn’t even halfway full as seen from the picture.

Not all whey protein is created equal. Some are too heavy, too sweet, or hard on the stomach. The Dymatize ISO100 Whey Protein Powder (Vanilla, 5 lb) stands out because it delivers exactly what performance-focused users want: fast digestion, clean taste, and reliable mixability. This isn’t a “dessert shake” protein — it’s a functional, high-quality isolate that fits easily into a serious training routine. ⸻ ✅ Pros 1) Hydrolyzed whey isolate = fast absorption ISO100 is made from hydrolyzed 100% whey isolate, which means: • very low fat • very low carbs • easy digestion • quick post-workout absorption It feels light and efficient, especially after hard training sessions. 2) 25g of protein per serving A clean, solid protein dose that supports recovery without unnecessary extras. Perfect for post-workout shakes or as a simple protein boost during the day. 3) Mixes extremely well This is one of its biggest strengths. It dissolves quickly in water or milk with: • minimal clumping • smooth texture • no gritty aftertaste Even with just a shaker bottle, it blends easily. 4) Vanilla flavor is balanced The Vanilla flavor is: • not overly sweet • not artificial-tasting • easy to drink consistently It also works well mixed with oats, smoothies, or yogurt. 5) Large 5 lb size offers strong value If you use protein regularly, the 5 lb tub makes financial sense and reduces how often you need to reorder. ⸻ ⚠️ Cons 1) Premium price compared to basic whey You’re paying for isolate and hydrolyzed quality. It’s not the cheapest option on the shelf — but the digestibility and texture justify it for many users. 2) Not a mass gainer This is lean protein. If you’re looking for high-calorie shakes, you’ll need to add carbs or fats separately. 3) Artificial sweetener taste (slight) While well-balanced, there is still a mild sweetener presence if you’re very sensitive to that. ⸻ Wrap Up: Is Dymatize ISO100 Worth It? If you want a clean, fast-digesting whey isolate that mixes smoothly and tastes good enough to drink daily, the Dymatize ISO100 Vanilla is an excellent choice. It’s especially well-suited for: • post-workout recovery • athletes managing macros • anyone who values digestibility and texture Overall: a high-quality whey isolate that delivers performance and consistency without unnecessary fluff.

Great way to get that extra protein . I use it to make protein rich smoothies ; I don’t notice any taste & blends well

I really like this protein. The vanilla flavor is delicious, and it mixes easily without clumping. I like it because it’s light and doesn't feel heavy after consuming it. I’m using it as part of my routine, and it has proven to be a great choice. Plus, the container is practical and lasts a long time. I would definitely buy it again.
