wonderful story
After 8 years of loving each other but making no commitments due to Carter being a Navy Seal, He is finally home for good. After losing her baby when Deke kicked her very hard in the stomach after kidnapping her, Delaney is crushed, heart broken and keeping everything to herself. Carter was a way on deployment and now that he is no longer a seal, Delaney wants no part of him. Being in love since high school, Delaney gas had enough of Carter not committing. Their love, lack of trust, grief, and falling apart could be the end if these two. This is a wonderful live story of Carter and Delaney but losing the baby just might destroy her. A mad man kidnaps her again . Is history repeating . I waited so long for their story. Riley did not disappoint in telling this story, i could not put the book down. 3 AM came to quick and I had to sleep. The uncles, aunts, cousins of this wonderful brotherhood are amazing, have everyone’s backs and make a difference. I think Delaney and Carter are amazing and their story is deep. Thank you Riley. . . Every book I read is just as good or better than the last . I am hooked. You bring your characters to life in amazing story telling. I like how you weave your other series of characters to life in a story. Like, the Triple Canopy Series is a spin-off from these guys retiring and starting their own security team ( Triple Canopy. ) just as the Next Generation is the children of Black Op heroes. Well done!

Emotional Ride
I think it is important that readers be aware and check trigger warnings for this book. If you have read at the very least Finding Mercy you should be aware of the triggers but please make sure you are checking them. After a text and call from his father while stationed overseas letting him know that something happened to Delaney, Carter Lenox knows he has to make a change before he really loses everything. When Carter makes it home on leave, Delaney is no longer the girl she was when he last saw her. He becomes a man determined to get his second chance with Delaney Walker, the love of his life, but Delaney is dead set moving on.The angst and emotional trauma these two relive is a lot. This is a love story, but man it is one that hurts on the way. Of course, as we all do, we keep things hidden or separated because we think we know best for the other person. So as we all know, secrets and hidden things don't always protect the other but do more damage in the end. There was a lot of frustration for me wanting to smack both Carter and Delaney (Carter A LOT more) upside the head for just NOT talking to each other. But we know that talking about our trauma doesn't come naturally especially when we know that it will hurt the other person too.I was happy to see Delaney stand up for herself and to stop looking through the rose colored glasses she wore for years allowing herself to be treated as she was. I was more happy to see Carter wake TF up and see what all of his "protective" steps had actually done. This story is a journey, and it isn't filled with sunshine, rainbows, and funny moments. It is filled with heartbreak, tears, and finding yourself. A story of grief and healing.Devon Grace and Troy Duran do such a fantastic job with this story. The realness to the emotion and the story they both bring and they navigate the journey of Delaney and Carter is spectacular. Their storytelling ability added a whole new layer to this story.

Audio Review
Carter and Delaney have dealt with a lot of emotional turmoil over many years they’ve been in love. Delaney stood by praying Carter would come home safe and finally lay claim to her. Each time he left, gutted her. Then Delaney had a horrific experience and Carter wasn’t there.Carter, a navy seal, had been in love with Delaney since she was 15 years old. He was strong willed, bossy, funny and melted for “Laney” whenever she looked at him.Delaney, a school teacher, had been struggling with the most painful secret. Only trusting Mercy to help her get through. While she was feisty and stubborn, she was so kind and caring of others. She’d put her love life on permanent hold for Carter.“A part of me will always love you. You were my first everything. My first love, my first kiss, the first man to touch me, the first to make love to me. But you’re also my first heartbreak. The first and only man to break me. A bigger part of me knows I deserve better. Please let me go so I can find it.”Troy and Devon made these characters words and emotions consume me. Needless to say I had a box of tissues close by until the very end. The anguish, the love, the conflicting emotions…they were all there. I felt each emotion as the story was performed.Carter and Delaney were destined to be together. I loved hearing their backstory as teens and how their relationship evolved. Their families continue to provide an amazing bond, especially through something so heartbreaking. The banter between fathers, uncles, sons and cousins always provides comic relief. This series has been an emotional roller coaster but one I would buy admission tickets to ride over and over!

A must read (and make sure you have the tissues handy)
After much anticipation, I finally got my hands on Carter and Delaney's story and I've just finished reading Adoring Delaney and absolutely loved it. Such a rollercoaster of emotions. I couldn't put it down and would highly recommend you add it to your book pile today! And if you haven't read the rest of the series, I recommend you check them out. Riley writes with such warmth, steam and conviction that you can't help but become absorbed in the characters lives.

An awesome read
If I could give this book more than the five stars allowed I would because it deserved so much more. Carter Lenox, a navy seal does one thing on his job he isn't supposed to do, hesitate. Still feeling the ramifications from that single mistake he gets word about Delaney, his girl since he was little but no longer his girl with all the pushing away he has done. Delaney who we met in Mercy's book when she was kidnapped is dealing with all things emotional and a secret no one knows. This book was highly charged with emotional feelings etc. I could of shook Carter until his brain was banging around that head of his. I was telling at the book when he was pushing Delaney but didn't quick get it into his head that maybe it was over, that he succeeded and pushed her away enough that she was done, he just didn't listen. And Delaney, she needed to just go somewhere away from everyone to heal her mond, somewhere that Carter didn't know. Before anything gets going someone from the kidnapping comes to give out pain like they have had and Carter, Delaney's and everybody else's life is on the line. Will Carter finally admit everything and do the decent thing??????? Will they all survive????? Although I did enjoy Delaney do a WWE on the person. A fantastic read from start to finish and I can't wait to read about Quinn.

Finally!
We have been drip-fed teasers of Delaney and Carter's story throughout the rest of this series, so to finally get their book is exciting and it doesn't disappoint.Road blocks, speed bumps, diversions and collisions have marred their relationship and shattered both their hearts time and again. Can Carter finally give Laney everything or are they once again doomed?Packed with action, suspense, drama and emotion this book will put you through the wringer but leave you with a happy heart by the final page!
