The Field

Brilliant
This is John B Keane at his very best. The Field is probably his best known literary work and it's a story that's as relevant today as it was when he first wrote it.At the time of writing this review, John B Keane's website has a note on there saying that they are not granting permissions to perform the Field, which is a shame as I think it would be great to see the Field back in live theatre again. I'm not too sure why they've done this, perhaps as a result of the film rights, but either way, I cannot imagine John being happy that his most famous work would be condemned to a future of sitting on bookshelves.Anyway, a great read. A great story and it's just John B Keane at his most brilliant best.

A fine sensitive play
A fine sensitive play. Based in Ireland but its truth is pan- global and -historical.The movie has a different slant buyt equally valid. A must see if you like the play.
