Great resource!
We liked this book for our 9 almost 10 year old. I love the biblical perspective and honest look at puberty through the biblical lens. It can easily be used over time if you think some topics are too mature of your child. It be used on its own or to supplement subjects through a biblical lens. The pictures are simple and well written. I plan to purchase the one for boys as well when itβs their time!

Buy it!
Highly recommend. Parents should read first and then provide guidance depending on age/phase of child.

Great Conversation Starter
I prepped for "the talk" and so I was on the hunt for the right book to supplement that talk. I bought this and another book and this one by far was the winner. It explains without being too detailed and was done in a tactful way. The one thing it does not offer is going into detail about the spiritual implications of certain decisions. However, it was not a problem as I already had an idea as how to cover that in tandem with the emotional and physical consequences. I recommend it.

I loved everything about this book
I loved everything about this book. It covered so many important topics that I hadn't thought about--like the fact that feeling squirmy when discussing puberty is God's way of reminding us that we need to be careful not only how we dress and act with these body parts, but even with how we think about them! Good point! Another great reminder was that boys and girls are different and that that's how God made us. In a society that is trying to blur genders and pretend there are no differences, I liked the fact that the authors used several examples to show that God made the genders different to complement one another. There were many other topics that only got a sentence or two but were just as valuable and make me wish the authors had another book for older teens that expanded on them.As for the concerns a few reviewers had, I want to address that the authors do not discourage girls from getting higher education. They simply state that for many girls, God has called them to a role as wife and mother and that higher education does little to prepare them for this role. That's true. College doesn't prepare women for homemaking. I have a bachelor's degree and have been a homemaker for 10 years. My degree has largely been irrelevant to my life's work. The book doesn't tell women they have to be homemaker's or that college is useless. It simply states a fact. Another issue some have had is the statement that God may have created men with deeper voices so they can be preachers. Again, that's true--it might be that God gave men deeper voices for this reason. We don't know. The authors don't say that this IS the reason, just that it might be. Overall, I loved everything about this book!
