The best Sony NP-FW50 Battery 1500mAh you can get for the price.
The best Sony NP-FW50 Battery 1500mAh you can get for the price. Charged the battery, inserted and the camera recognized it right away.Update 07/12/2015It is the best product you can get for the price.I lost the battery charger of my Sony α NEX-C3, so in the process of buying the new charger, I decided to buy a new battery, and a 32 GB Sony memory Card, to complete my camera kit.Very satisfied with the new battery charger. It works the same as the original I had, but is much better, because of the extra option to charge in the car from a cigarette lighter. The new extra battery I bought is great, the capacity is greater than original I got with the camera, and now with 3 batteries and, the charging from car option, my camera can make endless pictures, without fear to run off power, especially in wedding ceremonies (of closed relatives). It was obvious that I did more interesting photos, then the hired professionals, because I did twice more photos, and had the option to select the best. The new Sony 32GB SHDHC Class 10 is the best I could get for the price, and works as well as original 16GB that was included with the new camera, I have bought 5 years ago.I had to wait for a month, before giving the feed back, to make sure, to be able to give a unbiased, trust worthy information, that can help new buyers. And I got all, free shipping from Amazon.

Works. period.
Not much to say about a battery..but I will attempt to make an effort ;-)The pros:1) Price!2) Performance...This battery charges perfectly in the OEM Sony charger. +1 for generic! The battery holds a very good charge....now, it has been my experience that ZERO 3rd party(generic) batteries have EVER worked, or held a charge as long as, the OEM supplied/version battery's do.But, for a fraction of the price, you kinda need to EXPECT a fraction of the performance.I have found that MOST of the GOOD generic batteries(i.e. the batteries that fall between dirt cheap(crap!) and OEM prices..) typically perform about 2/3 or more compared to the OEM. Meaning, you can get 2/3 the shots, 2/3 the discharge rate, etc.You get like 60-70%(probably conservative for some brands) performance compared to the OEM battery. And for my 'pocket' or 'travel VERY light' camera, I dont care if it is "only" 60% performance. It works. Now, it has also been my experience that third party batteries DIE muuuuuuch quicker than OEM ones will.I have not "killed" one of these yet, so cannot compare this one's overall life span performance, yet...I will amend this review if the battery does NOT perform well over time. If no update, then this battery is still clicking away inside my camera! ;-)Oh, if you have 'pros', you need 'cons', right? sorry. The Cons:....would like higher mAh rating..? like 1800+Cheers!Brent

so disappointing
I bought this battery at the end of June, and it's already worthless (as of a few weeks ago). I guess it was pretty good for about a month?!? I wrote the date on it, so I know it's my new battery. Anyways, it got so swollen that I can no longer get it out of my camera. Other batteries, purchased much earlier, are working just fine, so it's not the camera. I used it with my Sony alpha 6500. going to look for a Sony original battery now.

Great customer service
I was going to put in a bad review for this, as the battery I got did not charge to 100% after about 48hrs straight in the charger. I pulled it out, and checked it in my camera, and it was listing it as 92% filled. Before I got a chance to contact the seller, they emailed me to ask me if the battery was as expected. I emailed them back and told them the battery did not work like it should. What they did was very surprising. They send me 2 replacement batteries and a charger. Charger was smaller than the one from Sony, and the batteries worked like a charm.Batteries hold it's charge all day long. As long or maybe even longer than the more expensive Sony battery. I took it on my trip a few weeks ago, and shot around 4000 pictures in the two weeks with both Sony battery, and these ones. I never have to worry about the battery life, as I got backups on me.Really great when it works, but occasionally, you might get a dud, but easy to take care of, so not a problem.

Great cheap extra battery, Excellent customer service!!
Bought this battery as a back up to the one that came with my camera. Worked well for a while, then stopped holding a charge. I reached out to the company and they are sending a replacement. Unless you want to spend more, you shouldn't expect this one to be just as good as the Sony brand. But their customer service impressed me and that is something to consider when buying any product. For the price, you can't go wrong!

Worked in NEX-6; then went DEAD after 3 months
UPDATE on December 30, 2013: This battery is now dead. It's been in the wall charger, which indicates that it's fully charged. But when I put it into my NEX-6 camera, the camera will not power on. The camera does power on when the original Sony brand battery is inserted. I should have stuck with my preference for OEM brand batteries instead of buying this one. Now this one is destined for the recycling center, and I'll be purchasing a genuine Sony brand battery to replace it.ORIGINAL REVIEW: I generally buy the OEM brand battery for my cameras, but this time I went for the less expensive brand for my new NEX-6. This battery has charged up just fine and works just fine in my NEX-6, including the camera's displaying the charge percentage of the battery. This off-brand battery may not go as long on a charge, and it may not have as many charge/discharge cycles in its lifetime, as the Sony branded battery does. Well, at the price they're asking for it, the Sony brand battery should be darn near immortal. I'll probably buy another one of these off-brand batteries before I take my camera traveling. With 2 of these plus the OEM battery, I should have enough battery power on hand.
