left button is recessed for the purpose of avoiding the button from being accidentally pushed which could cause the time to be changed. This is a design element and not a flaw or defect. The simply designed Casio G-Shock Classic digital watch for men offers shock resistance that's great for your most vigorous sporting activities. The durable rectangular black watch case measures 45mm wide (1.77 inches), and it's matched to a comfortable black resin sports strap. It includes a stopwatch function that can measure events down to 1/100 of a second for the first 60 minutes (and down to 1 second from 60 minutes to 24 hours), and it offers elapsed and split time modes, and 1st-2nd place times. It also has a countdown timer with a 24-hour range. Other timekeeping features include a multi-function alarm, hourly time signal (which can be turned off), and 12/24-hour formats. This timepiece also features an Auto Calendar (pre-programmed until the year 2039), ±15-second accuracy per month, Afterglow backlighting, and water resistance to 200 meters (660 feet)--which will stand up to the rigors of recreational scuba diving. This model represents some of the very best of the tough and durable Black Out G-SHOCK design. 200-meter water resistance and a convenient EL backlight display packed into a design that is tough, rugged, and fashionable.

GOOD
Damn good watch I put it through hell and I don’t think it even has a scratch. I work with my hands and put them in tight spots all the time and it’s been perfect for me. If you’re looking for a watch that’ll hold up to the abuse you put yourself through and don’t want something bulky this is the one. Also if your not a fan of the red on the inside you can’t see it when you have it on so don’t matter.

Incredible Style
G-Shock toughness with incredible style. This is a basic G-Shock Square but where it really shines is in the style department. The negative display is crisp and easy to read. The band feels more supple than your standard G-Shock resin band. I would describe it as wearing more like a leather band. Wider, smoother and very comfortable. The mold for this model is ever so slightly thicker than other square molds. Barely noticeable to a non enthusiast, but this is a real treat as the watch has a very subtle extra heft in appearance. Paired with its blackout bezel and negative display, it looks menacing. The red layer on the band is a nice touch and not overwhelming at all.A few notes-Yes, the "Adjust" button is recessed and that has been explained often. Engaging that button is immediate. It is recessed on purpose to prevent getting snagged or bumped, throwing off you watch settings. This is a purposeful design edit that has been around for many years. Like any mass produced item, the tolerances very a tiny bit from batch to batch, so some are more recessed than others. It is not a defect. The bezel button surround on that particular button has a cut out to allow you to use the button just fine.

Simply beautiful - Calling it a 'Beater' watch does not do it justice.
I now know why so many people love this type of watch. This is the first time I have seen it. It was a case of love at first sight since I first came to listen to somebody talk about the Casio G shock 5600 after discovering the youtube channel 'just one more watch'. Then I went looking around to see which watch I like the look of the best and it is, for the moment (I do see this turning into a little bit of an obsession now- Casio though not Calvin klein) it is this negative display version. I think my next watch next month will be the Tough Solar model GW-M5610 and then maybe the blue version.. and thats it.. ;) But seriously, this for me, is a beautiful and simple to use watch (Alarm, time, stopwatch, timer); it's superb how the time displays on the stopwatch screen- that is something many more expensive watches do not offer. The buttons certainly are a little recessed and do take a little bit of deliberate pushing but nothing I cannot adjust to for such a beautiful looking watch and clearly that is in keeping with the nature of this being a durable/rugged watch. Calling this type of watch 'a beater watch' though does not seem to do it justice. but I will wear this with confidence knowing it is not delicate. Great seller by the way and speedy US to UK delivery. early by 8 days. thank you from a very happy customer. and happy new year to you all

The watch is bullet proof, the screen too hard to read imo
I had one of the original g-shocks when they first came out in the 80's. Bullet proof watch, which this one is based on. This is a grate looking watch, with the red inner band, and all black look. But that's also it's downfall for me. The reverse blackout screen, which looks cool, is just too hard to read for my old eyes. ...and it was just too thick for my taste. I returned this and got another g-shock, the GA2100 series, which has a more classic analog watch look, while still being a G-shock and having thinner case that sits better on my wrist. If you have better eyes than me, this would be a great watch though.

Great looking watch at a great price. My first G shock
The media could not be loaded. Daily use, looks great, formal but casual as well. Materials look great and durable. My first G shock and I love it so far, I'll be buying more from g shock family. Size is perfect for my medium size wrist. Light is bright enough

Can't Go Wrong with G-Shock
I bought this as a gift for my son. He likes to wear a watch, but he's typically pretty hard on them. G-Shocks are basically bulletproof, and the blackout bezel and reverse display make this one look great. He loves it.
