Great book, excellent B&W fotos. Takes me back to those happy carefree & exciting days rushing around the N.W (when I could afford it, pocket money in those days wasn't as generous as it is today) in the eternal quest for steam. We all thought it would never end. But it did. Again a wonderfully evocative book. Well done Don & Keith & Book Law Pub's for putting this book together. Excellent Booklaw publication, highlights the past steam age that will never be again. A past train-spotters memory jogger, just shows high time has flown past. Again shows places that are now covered in concrete or tarmac as either housing or car parks. Well worth reading. Recommended.

A great book on the west coast. But two many named locos and not enough of the everyday workhorses.
