The Fighting Temptations (Widescreen Edition)

This movie is so great. It is hilarious, it is uplifting, it is heartwarming. Cuba Gooding Jr is of course hilarious. And Beyonce isn't bad with her acting, and of course her singing is amazing. I first saw this when it came out on DVD back in about 2003. I bought the soundtrack it was so good, and I've listened to it ever since! A song came up on my shuffle and I thought "I want to see that movie again," so I searched it out and found it. And the movie holds up! Just as enjoyable 16 years later! I was dancing around to it. Fun for the whole family.

This movie hits on many levels, not just entertainment. It makes you look at your own motives in life and to realize what is really important. Brings back the small town church feel. Good movie to bring up your spirits and the songs are very catchy and soothing. I can't recommend this movie, enough!

The Fighting temptations is a really great movie still to this day, it's super funny, extremely organized and the singing and sound track to the movie is just amazing, highly recommended perfect for the whole family to enjoy, the entire cast did an amazing job here, but the singing was superior!

The movie is great! A cute storyline, featuring an even more upbeat spin on classic gospel songs. I already knew I lived this movie and bought it to share with my grandma, my only complaint is that the DVD skips/freezes up towards the end of the money which is frustrating. Again, not a movie problem, but an Amazon DVD problem.

This is a fun movie but there seems to be something missing during the whole film. The cast is great (maybe that's what they thought would bring in the customers), the plot is predictable, the script is weak, but the gospel music is great and the actors enjoy rocking to it. The music seems to light up the environment and screen when it is going on.The story is sorta like... a wayward guy gets his groove on and goes right after spending his whole life playing tricks on everyone including his family. With his newfound girlfriend, a cool, Christian gal shows him the way it needs to be and being placed in a position of true authority and responsibility he must come through for himself and the rest of the characters.Simple, fun, enjoyable, musical. A few slow spots during the 120 minutes but the music picks it back up each time.

The entire movie was great, but I especially liked how not being so judgemental caused a lot of souls to start attending church/return to church and perhaps one day turn their entire life over to the Lord. The one thing that was distasteful and could have been omitted was when the guys were driving down the street and saw girls walking down the street with daisy dukes on showing their bodies and the guys were acting like animals. The movie would have still been great if that scene were left out.

This is a great movie for people of all ages. The singing and dancing are great, and there is enough of a storyline to hold it all together. Please create more movies like this one!

Convict and drunk are in the choir so that the church can win prize money? That's not funny, that's ridiculous. Maybe Beyonce can sing, she sure can't act. This is a bad movie.

Cameo appearances by great soul and gospel stars from the seventies to the noughties. Real sharp one liners, fantastic singing and stage performances.

LOVED it the first time I saw it. Still love it every time I re-watch. Beyonce is beautiful (and young!) - fun to hear her sing gospel, and in a much more simpler style of music. Cuban G. is fun and funny. The O'Jay's are still amazing, with their barbershop rendition of "Love Me Like a Rock", and a fun funky, rap, laid back new take on "Down By the Riverside". Another film which may not have been released in France?

Really good and funny christian film

The perfect feel-good movie. Beyoncé is gorgeous Cuba Gooding jr. is humorous as usual.The music is terrific .A very entertaining comedy.

Loveeeee this film, very funny and a great classic.
