Unadulterated sheer brilliance
What a ride. I love Rebecca’s books. This new series (I hope) was a must read for me…. Our heroine Laurel is complex and fascinating, the secondary characters are well built and rounded. I devoured this book and fully expect to do so on my re-read. Really looking forward to book two. Wow! What a ride.

You Can Run
~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~This is the first in a new series, and there is some good world building through the book, which feels organic. Laurel may come from Genesis, but she left at 11 for college, and after a haul of degrees, she joined the FBI and became a profiler.A gruesome discovery back home has Laurel flying in to see whether she can solve the mystery. Her uncle is a suspect, and she is confident that is a mistake and wants to help him too. Utterly unprepared for the weather, she finds herself needing help on her arrival - from a law enforcement officer, Huck and his working dog, Aeneas. We gather quite quickly that there is an unusual chemistry between them, but also that there are bigger needs in the town as more bodies are found.I found the jurisdiction issues over the crimes really fascinating, and the blustering of the Sheriff was both funny and disturbing. It adds some of the complexity to the solving of the case, but most of it comes from the local church. Be ready for some excellent red herrings and also some very unexpected twists and turns.A really engaging read, and at times the description of the bad weather had me shivering. I am definitely going to be looking out for future installments, as I am invested in the futures of Laurel, (and her Mum), Huck, Aeneas and Kate and her girls, to mention just a few of those who live in Genesis.~~Wicked Reads Review Team~~

1st in series, suspense, think this is just the intro, excited for more
This is the first in the new Laurel Snow series and I’m excited to see what happens in the next books in this series.Laurel Snow is an FBI agent with an eidetic memory. She is asked to come home by her mother to help with a murder enquiry where her uncle is a suspect/person of interest. She works with the Captain of the Fish and Wildlife team, Huck Rivers and a larger task force to apprehend a serial killer targeting blonde women and leaving them on the side of a snowy mountain.Huck, a loner suffering PTSD from a previous case is only one of the interesting characters in this story. Abigail Caine a potential witness also with an eidetic memory inserts herself in the case and turns out to be an interesting but not likeable character. Kate, a divorced mother of 3 becomes part of Laurels administration team and becomes a good friend. We learn some of Laurel and her mums history but I think there is so much more that is to be uncovered.I enjoyed this book and read it in one sitting. I would have liked more of a romantic relationship to be formed with Huck but I’m hoping that as this is book 1 in the series that this will develop in future stories.

What a nail biting whodunnit
Holy moly! I need to double up on the stars here. This story blew me away. If you like action, suspense and a little romance, this whodunnit with FBI Agent Laurel Snow taking the lead on an investigation into a serial killer in her home town of Genesis Valley, is a definite winner. As a leading profiler in the FBI, Laurel Snow is the best chance Huck Rivers has of catching the serial killer who seems to have taken a liking to his neighbourhood, (heads up, there are some gruesome descriptions of the victims throughout). So many twists and turns in this highly addictive thriller. It would appear that fingers are pointing to a number of suspects, I had theories for each and every one of them. Can they narrow it down and catch the killer before any of their loved ones are taken? I loved the story, I never wanted it to end. I loved the characters, both Laurel and Huck didn’t take any messing, they were straight to the point and methodical, the chemistry between them thrummed, without taking over the story. I can’t wait for more in this series. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.

A great start to a new series
You Can Run is a great start to a new series from Rebecca Zanetti.Laurel Snow is a young FBI profiler who attended college at age 11. When she has to return to her home town unexpectedly, she develops friendships in the most unlikely of places.I really liked how Laurel is portrayed and how she constantly analyses herself. Her counterpart from Fish and Wildlife Dept, Huck is a hulk of a man with some demons that haunt him.Together they make an amazing investigative team but with some chemistry zinging around them, their minds are not always strictly on the job at hand. This looks like the start of a really good series. Lots of groundwork has been put securely in place for Laurel Snow and her 'team' to investigate more goings on, in and around Genesis Valley in Washington State.I'm so looking forward to discovering where her Laurel's investigations will take her next.

Thriller with a pinch of romance
I’m not one for reading thriller books, but since it was written by Rebecca I decided to give it a try and she didn’t disappoint. The book kept my attention the whole time. With a plot full of twists and turns, unexpected revelations and complex characters, the book is really an amazing start to a new series starring the FBI agent Laurel Snow.

Love that this is the Beginning of a New Series
Laurel Snow is an FBI agent and a child prodigy who went to college when she was only eleven years old. As an adult, she is obsessed with capturing serial killers and in this new series, she returns home to find the Snowblood Peak killer, one who dumps young blondes into the frozen wilderness and doesn’t seem like he will stop killing anytime soon. With a team composed of a Fishing and Wildlife Captain named Huck Rivers and a newly divorced single mom named Kate Vuitton, Laurel is ready to tackle the wilderness and the killer. The interactions between the characters was spot-on mesmerizing and the story itself was so absorbing that it was almost impossible to put the book down. I’m excited that it’s the beginning of a new series because this kick butt FBI agent is like a new super hero with powers of intuition that are unimaginably accurate. I especially enjoyed the development of a romance between Laurel and Huck and the mystery surrounding Laurel’s parentage. There were some quirky characters too, including Professor Abigail Caine who enjoyed playing games with the FBI, just to check out the powers of her own intellect. This book was more than entertaining, it was one that I got lost in its pages and multi-layered story for hours at a time, not caring about eating or sleeping, just wanting to discover the killer and see how the stories all ended up. It was written masterfully, with a complicated plot that unraveled slowly and methodically to a very satisfying conclusion. Fans of mystery and suspense with some romance thrown in will enjoy this new book and, like me, anxiously await the next one.DisclaimerDisclosure of Material Connection: I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley. Laurel Snow Mysteries
This was a good solid mystery. I guessed who the killet was about half way through. I liked the small town atmosphere to the story. I will read more from this author. The characters were interesting and well developed.

Fabulous start to the series!
What a great story!Multilayered plot with unique and interesting characters. I couldn't put it down and I can't wait to see what happens next.Laurel and Huck make a great team and are good together, the author did a great job with their slow burn relationship and it will be fun to watch it grow.Laurel looks ready for a home base, Mom needs looking after, crazy sister needs a straight jacket and setting up a new office with her feisty assistant Kate should make for a very entertaining series. I'm ready for more!
