It is great for routine and emergency use. Not sure how likely I am ever to need the SOS feature, but the variable zoom, multiple intensity levels, and even the strobe feature, coupled with its small size, make this a truly handy all-around light for just about any situation. I've already purchased a second one and will probably end up getting more before I'm done. Caution! Don't be looking directly into this flashlight when you first turn it on! It'll be 10 minutes before your vision returns to normal. I have not had this light long enough yet to assess its longevity, but I'll update if I ever have issues with it. I've had butt switches in two other big-brand tactical lights fail after about a year, so I'll be keeping an eye on that aspect with this one.
