Its sealed bearing system ensures smooth rotation, while its serviceable design maximizes longevity. Lightweight at 340g, these pedals offer pro-level performance without breaking the bank, making them a top choice for riders seeking reliable, high-value MTB pedals. ## Description Having a place to put your feet is a pretty non-negotiable part of cycling, but, you don't want to spend your post-ride refreshment budget (and part of next month's rent) on flashy pedals, either. RACEFACE's Chester Pedals don't have the shiny aluminum construction of some of their pricier counterparts, but they also won't empty your wallet, and RACEFACE carefully constructs their nylon composite body to make it just as grippy and responsive as aluminum versions. Using eight replaceable steel hex traction pins on each side of the pedals, RACEFACE gives the rubber soles of your shoes a place to hang on when you're blasting through destructive territory. It also fully seals the bearing and bushing system while a durable Cro-Mo steel axle keeps the pedal working smoothly for as long as possible. If it eventually does need some work, RACEFACE makes the system completely serviceable too, so you won't be forced to replace a perfectly good pedal because of a bushing or bearing problem. ## Features - Material: [body] nylon composite, [axle] chromoly steel - Removable Pins: yes, steel - Claimed Weight: 340 g - Actual Weight Notes: Race Face Chester flat pedals. - Recommended Use: mountain bike ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B018J1J7QE | | ASIN | B018J1J7QE | | Age Range Description | Adult | | Best Sellers Rank | #375,690 in Sports & Outdoors ( See Top 100 in Sports & Outdoors ) #793 in Bike Pedals | | Bike Type | Cross Country Bike | | Brand Name | RaceFace | | Color | Black | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 4.8 out of 5 stars (1,227) | | Date First Available | November 25, 2015 | | Department | unisex-adult | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00821973286433 | | Included Components | 2 bike Pedal | | Item Dimensions L x W | 10"L x 5"W | | Item Type Name | Chester Pedal | | Item Weight | 14.1 ounces | | Item model number | PD16CHEBLK | | Manufacturer | Race Face | | Manufacturer | Race Face | | Manufacturer Part Number | PD16CHEBLK | | Material Type | Composite | | Model Number | PD16CHEBLK | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Product Dimensions | 5 x 10 x 1 inches; 14.1 ounces | | Product Style | Motorcycle | | Thread Size | 9/16 inches | | UPC | 821973286433 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | one year | ## Images ![RaceFace Chester Pedal Black, One Size - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/31v78KRtcAL.jpg) ![RaceFace Chester Pedal Black, One Size - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/31v7-+0ivnL.jpg) ![RaceFace Chester Pedal Black, One Size - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/31pwOr9JOcL.jpg) ![RaceFace Chester Pedal Black, One Size - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61G2d7joQaL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Can you adjust the height of pins?** A: The pins are removable and replaceable via an Allen wrench 2.5mm - There are no alternative pin sizes or spacers included in the box - pins come installed **Q: how is the pin height? is it adjustable? do you have a problem with the pin height? will it bite through skater shoes? thanks!** A: Skate shoe are what I ride with ...that's why I bought these pedals...love them not sure if the pin hight is adjustable... **Q: Can they fit pedal straps** A: Yes, the spacing is such, that thin pedal straps would fit, however the removable pins would need to be removed in order for the strap to fit. **Q: will they fit a specialized stump jumper?** A: I'm riding a Giant Anthem XS and often the crank sets are used by many different bike manufacturer.
