Great sounding passive pickup. - Needs a preamp
Got this so that my acoustics could have a DI. I HIGHLY recommend running this through a pre-amp pedal or something with a powered gain stage/a little coloring to get it to sound good. It sounds the best of any clip on pickups I've tried stock but it is for sure low output and needs the pre-amp to smooth it out a bit and boost the signal. But other than that I'm very happy with it. It's super easy to install and switch between my guitars!

Gets the job done
Great product, gets the job done, easy to place in and out of guitar.

its kinda awkward but sounds good thru a pa or effects pedal
The only down side to these types of pickups is they get in the way of your fingers or pick, its kinda awkward but sounds good thru a pa or effects pedal. Not sure how much different the HC model is but id get that if i had to get another... only $10 more but i couldnt find one in black at the time.

Have to use metal strings, & have to control the volume because it can get very loud, beside that great for acoustic guitars
