Honest and Customer oriented
After attempting to obtain the correct modem that was compatible with our Optimum service, I was thrilled to have the assistance of this seller who took the time to inquire about our needs, and the previous issues we had with a prior purchase. This seller is helpful, honest and customer oriented. When shopping on line in environments other than proprietary stores, one tends to be cautious and skeptical.. I assure you, this seller is top notch and has integrity. Thank you for your consistent assistance and support throughout the process.

Trouble in a box.
These units are refurbished whatever that means. To me, it means they don't work more than half the time. Absolutely garbage, & Optimum won't allow any new units to be sold if you want their phone service. So, either you rent one from them at $10/month which adds up fast, or you buy one for $70 or so, take your chances. I've gone through 4 now and they drop the signal every day. I have to turn it off, unscrew the very difficult & painful coax cable, & hit the reset button. EVERY DAY. I've returned 3 looks like it's going to be a 4th here & we're going to have to drop our phone service so we can buy a new modem. We're going to lose the functionality of our expensive all in one printer's Fax capability. This shouldn't be only choice but it is with Optimum. Unfortunately, Verizon is even worse. We dropped our cable & got Roku, which we actually love, but it requires, you guessed it, a streaming MODEM. This isn't a Sophie's choice, but it sucks & so do these modems. Don't buy them. Nothing but trouble.

Great buy. Saves money (eliminates monthly modem rental fee).
Product arrived quick, in good condition and well cleaned from wherever it's previous deployment was. Powered on nicely and has been running like new for roughly two months. As a nice bonus, it's smaller than my original TM822 from Optimum. It got a little too warm for comfort when placed in a somewhat confined space but that was easily remedied by letting it breathe a bit. A great buy that saves on the internet bill :)

Good product, just not compatible with Comcast in PA
Modem arrived in good shape despite the damaged packing box (Amazon). Modem was functional but unfortunately this model cannot be fully provisioned on Comcast in PA - Got the Internet working no problem, it's the EMTA (phone) side that could not provision, plus their system rejected when trying to add to account.

Stable and reliable
Very stable. I have it on UPS and it has NOT been reset in 4+ months since I activated it! Delivers 90-100 Mbps and one land line. It has an additional land line jack, but I don't use it. Land line voice quality is very good, with no hum pickup or digital noise.I have it feeding into a a/c band wifi router and a gigabit wired switch that runs to all rooms in the house. The entire system runs without any baby sitting. Provider is Mediacom for those wondering about compatibility. (There was one service outage because a car rammed into the distribution box in the neighborhood, but the modem reconnected on its own -- I mention this because many know brand names need a manual reset).

Has 2 telephone ports, needed for your land line.
I bought this to replace the TM822G that the cable company was charging me a monthly fee for. The difference is that the tm822g has a backup battery, which you have to buy separately and I never had. So this one works fine without it, so far. Did not notice any change in internet service or gaming speed. Had to call the cable company to register it and then it started working. So far so good and I save on a monthly fee. So if you need a modem with a land line you have to buy it online because the cable company doesn't allow the the local electronic stores in my area to sell them.
