Good for temp & pH, flimsy; but awesome vendor
Three stars for the Digital 4-in-1 soil tester, but five stars for MC-POWER. So, I’m rounding out my rating to four stars. The soil tester is delicate and flimsy. After only a few uses, the top part separated from the metal probe. My advice is don’t stick the probe all the way in the ground, and pull it out of the ground by pulling up on the metal probe, and not the plastic housing. After reaching out to MC-POWER about the damage, MC-Power was quick to send a replacement unit! MC-POWER was very responsive!The replacement unit came with the protective cap stuck to the probe. I had to use force to remove it, and in the process, slightly bent the probe. I did say it was delicate, didn’t I? It bent back easily and didn’t seem to impact the device’s functionality.I have little way of gauging the accuracy of the device, but the numbers it report make sense. I plan to use this primarily to gauge soil temperature in the Spring, so I can better time applying crab grass pre-emergent to my lawn. I’m also using it to gauge soil pH levels to see if I need to apply lime. IMO, the sunlight intensity measurement is pretty useless. And the moisture level settings are too coarse/vague (DRY+, DRY, NOR, WET, WET+). I use a separate moisture sensor throughout the season that provides much more detail.

This is a science nerd's gateway drug
I originally bought this for work. I run a kayaking company in coastal NC, and it's hard to find reliable wind speeds from inland weather stations. This purchase happened when we were bored at the shop one day, and wishing that we knew just how fast the wind really was outside. This is a great buy, and was easy to justify.The downsides:- My staff now knows just how big of nerd I really am- I have a constant need to know the wind speed wherever I am, and may or may not carry my anemometer in my purse- All of my staff now know how fast they can blow- I want a real weather stationMy only real complaint is that the head does not rotate, so I have to rotate my body to get accurate readings. Life is hard, but knowing the wind speed is not!

Other than that it's a good product for the cost
pH meter only has a resolution of 0.5, so the readings display 6.0 6.5 7.0, etc. if you're more serious about your plants then you know that some plants desire 6.8 pH for example, it is not possible to achieve precise pH readings with this unit. Other than that it's a good product for the cost.

Manufacturer replaced unit. The new unit was not as badly off. I would be suspicious still to trust your valuable plants to this unit without verification.Soil needs to be moist to make fairly accurate reading. With indoor plants, I am considering distilled water for the test
