7 years a paintball mask....
I recently just bought this mask to replace a 7 year old JT Flex 8 mask. I play paintball quite a bit and do some scenario games every few months. My playing type is pretty aggressive so I do sweat quite a bit. Fogging is an issue for me in pretty much any mask or snowboard goggle when I start to sweat. Luckily, I discovered the vortex fan which fits perfectly on this mask. Throw that puppy on for about 15 seconds and it totally clears the lens. The venting on this mask is fantastic and as you can see in the picture, the entire lower part of this mask is vented. I've played in 90 degree weather and in 40 degree weather. This mask does well in all conditions. This mask is better suited towards those with smaller heads and faces. I have found the foam to be very comfortable and the fit is nice and snug depending on how tight you have the band. The foam was what started to break down on me on my first set of these goggles. I guess after playing over 75 games it had to go. The lenses on this thing are a pain to take out, but not as bad as people have said. It took me about 5 to 10 min to get it the first time, but after that the plastic tabs start to soften a little. You just have to work it in sequence: I start at the top center and work my way around the lens on both sides until I reach the nose which is the worst area. After the first time, it takes about 5 min now for me to change out a lens. Most manufacturers say that if you receive a direct hit to the lens, then it should be changed out. Be SMART on this point, because a new clear lens is approx $25. I normally check the lens for cracks before every game and especially after a game where I get hit really hard. Any appearance of surface cracks or through cracks means it get trashed. You don't want to take any chances. I've had lenses last me through 10 face shots, but normally at that point, there is also paint between the lens, which means the lens is trashed.I do not think that you can find a better paintball mask for a cheaper price. Yes, it is not flashy or fancy, but it is comfortable, keeps your face safe, and can last a long time with a TLC. I hope that this next mask will last me another 7 years. Also, if you sweat a lot and fog alot, get the vortex fan. It is worth every penny.

Very decent paintball Goggle/Mask
I recently purchased this item a week ago, and already put it to the test.I find the construction of this mask to be very solid. It feels very comfortable, and the lens does NOT fog up at all. It is also very easy to clean off the lens, should anything hit you in the mask. One of the flaws of this mask is that I cannot flip the bottom (mouth) portion up. I don't like that a bunch... Especially when you've got the word "Flex" in the product description. There definitely isn't much flex there.I find the olive finish to be very effective in the woods, and keep the visor on to avoid any unnecessary sunshine on the goggles. One more thing, I find that this mask sits a little further low on my forehead then i like... This is easily remedied with a headband/baseball cap.I'd recommend this mask, however I know the JT Proflex allow you to bend the mask upwards at the mouth, and although it exposes the neck, it allows you to breathe just THAT much better. So wear a shemagh, and get it over with :)

There's nothing Flex about this mask
I recently got back into paintball, and decided to buy the Flex 8 to replace my old Flex 7. The two masks could not be more different. The flex 8 is a small, hard, plastic mask. There's no flexible rubber used at all like on the Flex 7. It feels like a $20 rental mask. The mask is very rigid all through the sides, so it doesn't fit comfortably. There's a distinct uncomfortable lack of padding on the sides by the ears. The mask is very small. I don't have a large head or ears. The bottoms of my ear lobes show under the sides of the mask. The mask also only covers about half the forehead, even with the visor. Finally, while they removed protective plastic from some spots on the mask, they managed to add more around the lense, so visibility is worse than the Flex 7.Overall I'm massively disappointed by this mask. It shouldn't be called "Flex" anything, and it shouldn't be >$50. It's a $20, low quality, child sized mask.

I don't think the anti fog capabilities of this mask are any better than the cheap masks that come with most guns
tried this mask out over the weekend of July 4. Mask fogged very quickly. I don't think the anti fog capabilities of this mask are any better than the cheap masks that come with most guns. I did, however, install the fan in the mask and that cleared the fog right up. Good visibility and coverage from the mask and it was very comfortable. Had I known it would fog up, though, I would not have spent the money.

Nice mask for new players.
This is a nice mask for a new and occassional player, which I am. I didn't want to continue to rent masks but didn't want to pay the big money for a Dye mask. I have a small head and the mask covers it well and is very comfortable. They've corrected the main pic I believe...its a regular (not prizm lens) since earlier reviews. It also looks really good. I've yet to remove the lens for cleaning so can't comment there...but am just keeping it clean after each use. On two really hot and steamy days, the lens did not fog at all. Nice mask!

Best Inexpensive Mask!
Great mask! Used it on a damp day and did not fog. Some of the more expensive thermals I tried would fog relatively easily. Easy to hear, be heard, and vision is great. Yeah, the goggles are hard to clean, but for comfort, anti-fog, vision, and hearing, I haven't tried anything that comes close in this price range and it gives alot of much more expensive masks a run for their money.
