anything is paintable when you prime it first. Although I bet a 2 in 1 prime spray paint will do a good job. I would sand it down a little first to help to hold on to the paint with some grit.

How stiff is it? Will it hold its shape if I bend it into a napkin holder on a table? Or will it flatten back out under its own weight?

I bent mine to cover an open area over a small electric base heater. It's held its shape well

what are the hole sizes? Would it work to keep mice out?

I won't say it will definitely keep mice out but the small size of the holes and the sharp edges of the perforations probably will. Good Luck. piglet
