Works good. I'd say buy it.
I bought a 20 dollar one and threw it in the garbage within an hour , it didn't work at all. I bought this one, put it on my 2023 Kawasaki KLR650 and it works fine, I like it. 4000rpm at 60mph 5000 at 74 mph . Seems pretty accurate from what I remember about an older KLR650 I owned that had a tachometer. Updates reasonably quick, but probably not quick enough to use as a time to shift indicator. Not back lit, and always on, I've heard some complaints about the always on thing. I don't really care that it's always on I have a Timex watch its always on and it's been 5 years since I bought it. If some day I gota replace a battery....oh well. So there's a long wire it's got a red end about 10 inches long , you wrap that red end around the spark plug wire 6 or 8 times creating a coil then lock it in place with baby zip ties. No direct electrical connection it reads the pulses through the rubber wire cassings.....how? I have no idea nor do I care really. Cuz it works.

Always good, but starting to get a bit pricey...
I've been buying these for years, many years. They are simple to install and fairly accurate, enough for my needs. However the price for this simple gadget has nearly doubled in price and has approached the gouging stage.

Works good smaller then it looks in pictures
Works good, one of my cows could probably install it, put in on my 2022 klr650 because apparently in 2022 we don’t need tachometers on our bikes from the factory? Works good for my use to monitor Cruise RPM and it updates quick enough to give you a good reference when shifting through the gears but don’t expect to be able to watch it to know when to shift unless you go turtle speed everywhere but if your on a KLR650 like me you don’t need it for that you will want it for cruise and highway the ole burrow will tell you when she needs to shift you just know after you have the bike a few days.

Easy
Works ok, not fast to respond, but good for cruising RPM's. Easy as can be to install! Stays on all the time. And its not backlit like the listing said it was.

Works great
Easy to install and does what you need it to do. It's a definite must have for a Ruckus with a CDI.

Hard to read with sunglasses on
Works great for inexpensive tach on my 1930 Model A Ford. Since the tach is LCD and not backlit, polarized sunglasses causes #s on display to disappear. Wrapped lead around the coil high tension wire, did not use as many wraps around the coil wire as instructed, signal was too strong since being on the high voltage coil output. Also had to program to a Pulses per Revolution setting other than what the instructions indicated to use. Once installed, programmed, has been working for about a year.

Works, but...
My main interest for this product was to use as a tachometer on my Janus Halcyon 250 with CG250 motor. Tried 4 "normal" tachs all of which exhibited the same random needle fluctuation. This works well at steady speed, showing what I believe is an accurate RPM. However, the system has a 'refresh rate' of about 1/2 second, which makes it unusable for shift points. Fine at steady speed, unsatisfactory at changing speeds. Not sure at this point whether I will keep it or not....

Great for use on my paramotor
This is small and installs easily. It is easy to read and accurate. The button to change from tach to hours takes quite a deep press to change it, but I don't need to do that often. Goes to sleep when motor is not running. Have it mounted just below my throttle and is easy to see at a glance. Thinking of buying one for my lawn mower as well to track service intervals. Good product!

Defective unit.
Rpm jumps around no matter how the sensor wire is hooked up. Outside of return window so I guess not much I can do.
