The directions are pretty lame but if you are used to weighing things like gunpowder charges or bullet weights, you'll figure it out in a just a few minutes. Works just fine. I needed something that was able to weigh things that were a few ounces and a bathroom scale is too big. My powder scales are too small and this covers the middle for me.
