Not a fan
Ugh,! If I could get over the taste and consistency/texture of this stuff I might be able to find a lot good about it, but it's just plain hard to swallow. It's a pain to get it actually mixed smooth (unless you carry your blender with you). It might be a good product, but I'm not going to fight with this stuff every time I need a protein drink. So I'll choke my way through the rest of this container because I don't want to waste it, but I won't be buying it again.

Vanilla is Better and Mixes Easier
I mix up this drink in a Tupperware shaker and I must say I have to work hard to get this chocolate protein powder to mix in well. It always seems a bit lumpy. I'll probably start using my blender instead I just hate cleaning the blender for just one drink. This drink does have some good qualities. It has rice, pea and soy protein in it. Now this does have a little fructose in it if that bothers you but since I'm normally drinking this right after a workout I don't find it to be an issue. This also contains a full range of vitamins so if you drink this you can skip your multivitamin for the day. It also has a very good amino acid profile. This contains isolucine, histidine, leucine, arginine, lysine, aspartic acid, methinine, serine, cysteine, glutamic acid, threonine, proline, phenylalannine, glycine, tryptophan, alanine, valine and tyrosine. It also contains bee pollen, bromelain, chlorphyll, bran, cellulose and apple pectin. I find this drink great to use after workouts just it doesn't blend as well as I'd like it to.~The Rebecca Review

Absolutely undrinkable.
I bought this product hoping it would help jump start a healthier eating program...as it turned out it was the most horrible tasting and the worst consistency drink I have ever tried. I tried ice, fruit, etc. I cannot recommend it.

Love the chocolate one
I've tried a couple and the chocolate is definitely the best. While sweet, it's not as sweet tasting as all of the others, while still tasting like chocolate with great vitamins! Recommended.

a vegan's favorite
(Attn vegans: It does contain bee "pollen"....) I have loved spirutein for a while now. Though, I have narrowed my selection down to : Chocolate, vanilla, and the cookies n' cream. They're amazing. I try to drink one a day to make sure I get enough protein(14 grams per scoop) and vitamins. It's quick and easy. Especially if you have a single-serve-blender. ( I highly recommend the Hamilton Beach version, best $17 I've ever spent) These spirutein powders need a blender, even though they say "just stir in." That's not happening. For best results combine:Spirutein powder, Milk or milk-alternative, and a thickener (ice-cream, banana, etc) and a couple cubes of ice is nice. Some flavors need a tbsp of sweetener. The choc. powder with a scoop of soy/rice vanilla ice cream and 8 oz. milk-substitute becomes the best Wendy's Frosty you've ever had. The vanilla powder with a banana, milk-subtitute, a tbsp of honey, ice and walnuts sprinkled on top is so delicious. Enjoy. And remember, protein is important if you want to keep your hair!

Doesn’t blend well with oat or soy milk
Have bought for many years. Lately, I have noticed my Vitamix blender does bot blend it well with oat or soy milk? It also gets floating lumps after refrigerating my mix? I looking for other vegan protein brands to use. I won’t buy this brand anymore.

Surprisingly tasty!
I have to admit that whenever I buy a product like this I always go into it expecting it to be a bit grainy/chalky. As noted in the other reviews, it is not grainy or chalky in texture at all, and has a fantastic flavor. The first time I made it, I mixed it with plain almond milk in my blender and for whatever reason it came out an almost pudding-like consistency. I added some more almond milk and it thinned down, but it does seem to congeal a bit at high speeds (at least with the thick almond milk). It's delicious, though, and if you want a super easy pudding you could do it that way! Otherwise I recommend blending at low speed, by hand, or possibly using regular milk.

Chocolate Spirutein
I started drinking these over 10 years ago. I remember it took me a few times to get used to the spirulina taste and now I absolutely love it. I drink it with a large glass of 2% milk every morning. The stirring used to drive me crazy, but now I use a knife to stir and it seems to work a lot faster.I've tried similar powdered products from other brands, which mixes better, but the taste was terrible. Spirutein tastes better than most milkshakes, and it's good for you.
