Nice glass canisters, Poor quality lids
The American-made canisters are high quality thick glass, but the off-shore-made lids are thin and do not tighten. Rather, the lids just continue to spin. It's a shame that the lid, such a small component of the overall cost of an otherwise good product, was out-sourced by Anchor-Hocking to an off-shore manufacturer. The non-tight air seal was disappointing and made the product not fit for purpose.

attractive, solid jar construction but cheap-ish lids
The jars are very nice looking and the glass thickness is decent, but the lids are a bit flimsy. I haven't had a lid 'fail' yet, but I am concerned that it may just be a matter of time. I sorta think that repeated opening and closing of the lids will wear out the threads which are plastic (the lid itself is metal). The concern is slightly compounded by the thought that Anchor Hocking will ditch this line at some point and no longer make lids that can be ordered as replacements.

WARNING Terrible Lid Quality DO NOT BUY
The lid slides apart from the threaded insert. Any illusions of this being mostly sealed are gone. This is the worst lid I've ever felt on a threaded container and certainly far worse than what I've come to expect from Anchor. Take heed, this is a warning to any potential customer: DO NOT BUY THIS. The threads are a lie.

Good design ruined by low quality lids
One of the reviews mentions as a plus for this set that it is made in the USA. That is certainly the implication stated on the outer box (see photo). The lids, however, have labels stating that they are made in China, and they are the reason I cannot highly recommend this set. My photos show how dirty they were on arrival; they are so very thin that they bend easily; one of my photos shows that one lid arrived with a noticeable dent, and another shows how easily they bend. It takes more effort to screw the lids on to the base than I would expect, another indication of their poor quality. I have no confidence that they are airtight or leak-proof or, at least, will stay that way for long.They are large, attractive, and stack well. The molded grips make them easy to lift without external handles that would take up more space. I would have given this set 4 stars but for the shoddy lids. A noticeably high quality lid could have gotten the set 5 stars from me.

lids made in china
The glass jars are so perfect. Nice thick glass. Im not sure why Anchor Hocking would go cheap and pair it with cheap lids made in China. It definitley loses stars because of it. I should have read the description better. I just saw made in USA.So dissapointed to see a made in China sticker on the lids.
