## Description

Contouring - self-adhesive - high-strength reinforcing seam tape for concrete, metal and many other surfaces. PS250: size: 2" x 50'. seam taping is an easy process and an important step in properly preparing your surface before applying Ames coatings and paints. Why is it important? hot and cold temperature changes will cause a roof, wall, or deck to expand and contract. Over time, cracks and leaks can develop. The purpose of seam taping is to provide reinforcement over areas prone to splitting, such as seams or joints, and create a "bridge" that ties the surfaces together so water cannot seep through. Seam tape is used around roof vents, on flashings, over cracks and gaps, along the seams on metal or rv roofs, and in many other applications.

Review: This tape is part of a roof coating system that works well. I had a leaking metal roof over my porch that two different roofers attempted to fix, but their repairs never held up for any length of time. I finally decided to fix it myself. This very sticky tape, along with a couple of other Ames Research products, fixed it once and for all. The company's support is great. I sent them a couple of photos of my roof, and they told me what I needed to buy. The instructions on the packages were clear. I highly recommend Ames Research products.
Review: My FORMER roofer repaired my roof by installing new asphalt rolls on my flat roof. However, he failed to secure some of the seams between the rolls (now you know why he is my FORMER roofer). I purchased this seam tape to secure the asphalt seams myself and this tape really works well. Make sure you clean the seam area of dirt and debris and use a 2-4" rubber roller to apply the seam tape. I applied an additional layer of flashing cement (with mesh) over the seam tape as additional protection. You must remember that this is SEAM TAPE and that it will eventually succumb to the weather (rain, sleet, heat, and snow) unless you put some protective material over it (like flashing cement, or liquid rubber). I no longer have to worry about water getting underneath the asphalt seams any more. This is a very good product.

This tape is part of a roof coating system that works well. I had a leaking metal roof over my porch that two different roofers attempted to fix, but their repairs never held up for any length of time. I finally decided to fix it myself.
