Cheaply made replacement
The item that I received does not look like the picture. The picture looks like the original Cuisinart piece. This item does not have a retaining nut on the blades, the blades are much thinner and are bent at different (somewhat random) angles. In addition, the black plastic plate is about half the thickness of the original. The blades are so poorly made that the tip of one rubbed against the glass side of the container so the blades would not turn (probably why other reviewers had their motor burn out). After some rebending of the blades, the unit works OK but I don't have great hope that this part will last as long as the original (about 3 years).

Burns
So I bought this after my original parts plastic broke off. This replacement seemed like it would work until I turned my blender on and smoke started coming out of the base and it started smelling like burned plastic after only a couple second of turning on the blender. I tried attaching my cup to my spare blender but the same thing happened. Pretty disappointed that this didn't work I should have ordered the original part from the cuisinart website. Do not buy.

Makes jar sit higher than original blade assembly. Cracked after 6 months daily use. Definietly NOT made by Cuisinart.
I purchased this "Cuisinart SPB-456-2B Blender Blade Replacement + 2 Cuisinart Blender Blade Gaskets SPB-562-3 INCLUDED! NEW!" sold by OD Outlet on July 24, 2014. About two months ago (February 2015), it began leaking whenever I blended anything. I thought it was the gasket at first and made sure to tighten the base very tightly but it kept leaking. Upon unscrewing the toothed disc from the bottom and removing the blade shaft I saw the hairline crack in the black plastic collar. Since this is long out of the 60-day warranty, I tried repairing it by squeezing some polyurethane glue (Gorilla Glue) into the crack and clamping the crack closed by wrapping the collar tightly with a piece of tape till the glue cured. It still leaks.Just as many other reviews stated, this blade assembly causes the whole blender jar to sit higher than the original blade assembly did. The round plastic base is lifted from the motor by at least 1/16 inch. I believe this is why it cracked; while it is spinning at incredibly high speeds, the blade assembly is having to bear the entire weight of the jar and its contents on that little round toothed disc instead of the base transferring that load down to the motor housing and making the jar stable. Because of this fact alone, I will be buying a new one directly from Cuisinart as this one is most definitely NOT made by Cuisinart. If it was, it would not raise the jar up like this. Not unless their manufacturing process and quality control is that seriously flawed. However, poor quality is NOT something for which Cuisinart is known. The original blade lasted me for at least 7 years.I tried to save some money by ordering this $12.69 part instead of the $22.50 part directly from Cuisinart. Now, I will be out over $40 after I buy the correct one from Cuisinart.com.

Same as many other brands... could use a better design.
I got this one knowing that it will wear out and break again in the not too distant future. It does the job, just like the original.Unfortunately, poor design means that the bearing sleeve will slide up, allowing the drive-engagement wheel under the bottom to press up against the main part of the body. You can press it down with a GENTLE tap of a hammer while resting the main part of the body over a cup/jar/mug of some sort (allowing for the drive-engagement wheel to hang free) but in time the plastic casing will crack. Also, do NOT run this through the dishwasher NOR allow hot, soapy water to sit in the blender jar. The soapy water will eventually seep through and wash the lubricant out of the bearing, speeding wear.

So this was great until this morning when my blender started leaking all over. When I took it apart I found the casing has broken off and I almost swollowed the piece that broke off! So disappointed considering I only purchased this in Feb 2017. Not even a year old and falling apart.

Same Item as the Cuisinart website but much cheaper here!
My son bought me the Cuisinart blender duo. I use my blender often, to make salsas, or malts. I've had it for about two years and one day the blade base fused with the rotary "thingy". I went to the Cuisinart website and the part is $32 dollars--no way! Then I came to Amazon and I found it here for much, much cheaper, so I bought it, I received it, I installed it, and I've been using it since. Exactly what I needed. Amazon is great.

There is no way these blades are made by Cuisinart ...
There is no way these blades are made by Cuisinart as indicated by seller. Both blades I received (I ordered two) started leaking then cracked at the collar within a month of use. The only reason why I bought these blades was because I thought they were made by Cuisinart. Buyer beware.

SCARY!!!
Scary!!!! Scary!!! The bottom base cracked into pieces as my blender was running! It almost caused a terrible accident as the blades of the blender popped up into the pitcher. I had a big liquid mess but I was thankful I was there to immediately turn the blender off. Do not buy this generic brand. Only buy Cuisinart name brand parts.

This review is too old to be of value to anyone.
We have long since replaced the blender but not because of this part. Just writing this review to get rid of the requests to have a review which is no longer relevant.
