Highly Amp'ed!!
I have a 2003 Toyota Tacoma Pre-Runner V6, 3.4L and was in need of a new alternator as my OEM alternator was starting to tire (voltage was dropping down to 12.1 with lights, dash cams, radar detector, A/C... on at idle). From my research, my truck took an 80 amp alternator which cost about $30 less than this 140 amp alternator....seemed like a no brainer to spend the extra $$ and get this one. I can report; I am quite happy with my purchase! Only needed a 10mm, 12mm, & 14mm and about an hour of time and the job done. This alternator is putting out 14 volts at idle with the truck loaded down as much as I could load it...it might drop down to 13.9 for a second but bounces back to 14. I took a few pictures of the old and new alternators so you see for yourself that it is a perfect replacement. I'm very glad I got this alternator, gives me some extra amps for future projects. Fast shipping too, ordered in a Wednesday, got it on a Friday !

Decent so far
It’s a brand new alternator. No core return or anything.Nice thing is that above idle RPM it’ll actually turn out some amps. If it’s hot out, you’re idling & you’re running the AC full blast & radio, it still does have trouble keeping up with the demand/voltage load you’re applying.Could be other issues, sure, but as far as it putting out the amps they claim, ITS TRUE, just NOT at idle.

Better than expected
This is a great alternator, puts out lots of juice for my winch and lights dropped right in no modifications on my 97 4runner. Also put One in my 01,Tacoma alternator shop tested both @ 2100 rpm 4runner made 164 amps, Tacoma 157 amps steady. Surprised and very pleased 😀

Fits up nicely!
I changed out my original 19 year old 203K miles alternator after watching a few youtube videos. This new one measured 14.2V and dropped to 14.1 with my lights on and AC on full blast. Thank you!

Output is not 140 Amps
I get a little bit better starting voltage but after about 5 minutes of driving and my stereo playing it goes between 11-12 and stays there. Go with something bigger instead of this. Stock pulley doesn’t fit either, you’ll have to get a smaller belt or a bigger pulley

Direct bolt in
I like that this is direct bolt in product. I like that this alternator is a higher output than the factory one since I have offroad light and a stereo system. But my battery light is on in my dash. Not full bright but still on. It works so that is the important part. I am overall happy with this product and is currently installed in my truck for the last 4 months. I just wish I had the warning that the dash light may stay on due to the alternator being high output.

Fears squashed, not like ebay
Installed in: 1996 4RunnerBolt-in price-conscious Higher Output Alternator!Reviews were mixed and few but I pulled the trigger and installed last night. So far so good! and I am getting 14.4v and 135amps at idle! And for less than the one from Oriellys that only lasted 14mos!!!I know the cs144 is popular but for a plug in play For a 3rd gen 4Runner .... I’m game!

Lasted 5 years, time to replace it
I had bought this alternator back in 2017 to replace the Toyota OEM alternator that was still going strong after 17 years and 235K miles of service, on my 3rd gen 4Runner, as part of preventative maintenance. Well, just after 4 years of service, this alternator's bearing started to make chirping noise (only in cold weather), although it didn't affect the power output of the alternator. After dealing with it for 2 years, it's time to replace it. As of right now, it's still putting out solid 14.2v in summer and 14.5v in winter. I also noticed, with this alternator, I'm getting corrosion on my battery terminals which I didn't get with the OEM alternator, indicating it's overcharging the battery. Overall, I give it 4 stars.
