I purchased purchased a pair of these on 21 sept 2021 but they have split within the year of purchase. Do you replace them within the year?

Had mind for 9 months mostly for dog walking. Material starting to flake off on both shoes so imagine they may be good for up to twelve months of continuous wear.

Is there any chance these are breathable?
