I spray this on my car body panels and any bare metal components prior to filler and high build. You have up to 5 days after applying to spray the next layer (high build primer or base coat). If you miss the 5 day window you just have to scuff with 400-600 grit sandpaper, wipe down, and apply the next coat. I often spray bare metal to protect it from surface rust and leave it with just the epoxy primer for months at a time. I’ve never had any issues with the product and delivery was quick and packaged well.
