Normally two. if buying from a vendor but you will need the SEM gun for applying the mix -- I usually buy extra's since this goes along way and its tough stuff --

Q: is this product stand alone? do I have to buy any other items in order to use this product? Do I need to purchase a special application gun to apply?

Yes a special applicator gun is required. It is sold at almost all home repair stores.
