Carrageenan - Paper Marbling - 16 Ounces

Frustrating when all of your design washes right off. This is Kappa Carrageenan. For paper marbling you need Lambda Carrageenan. I learned this after a wasted day of using this product.

We do marbling regularly at Ren Faires. My regular supplier of Carrageenan was out of town and I needed some within a few days and purchased this. It is super fine ground. It does not gel as well as what I usually purchase.

The result of the marbling is not crisp. The batch works for a few runs and start acting strange and the swirls are not as smooth. The colors also doesn't pick up as vibrant as the more expensive option. If you are looking for a more faded effect, this is what you are looking for but if you want vibrant color, I am afraid this can't give that to you. I was using the Dodin one before and that one works perfect, lasts a long time, can even store it and use it again. This one, while half the price, doesn't work as well. I have mixed both of them together before and it worked but it decreased the life span of the batch overall. It depends on what you are looking for.
