Sturdy Switch...Highly recommend.
I wanted to replace my old bedroom hot water circulator timer, which began giving me problems, with a switch to save on electricity. The timer was set to run two hours in the morning and two hours at night to cover the times we got up and went to bed. With the switch we run the circulator only when we need it, which is about 10 minutes a day.Instead of a basic single pole switch I opted for this Leviton PLR 20amp switch with a lighted toggle. It's larger than a normal on/off switch so it takes more room in electrical box and it requires a neutral wire for the light to work.I bought a deep double old construction outlet box because I wanted to keep the existing outlet and install the switch in the same box.It required a little work getting the original outlet box out without much damage to the sheet rock. The deep box provided plenty of room for the outlet, the new switch, and the wires.I love the lighted switch. it's built to last and the bright red light is a great reminder to turn the circulator off.The only con are the directions...the five installation options are printed on a small piece of paper and require a magnifying glass to read. Not a problem if you have basic electrical skills and know how you want to wire it. I used a jumper from the outlet in the same box to provide a neutral for the switch.

Worked perfectly
This item was used for an outside deck light inside one of my rentals. Due to the inside curtains / blinds, I found that renters didn’t notice that the outside deck light was left on all night Love the red light that is lit up when the outside deck light is on, as it allows the renter to see that the outside light is on from inside. Easy to install.

Lighted switch single pole
Well made switch. Shipped quick, liked price.Reason light would not light traced to an opennetural wire.

Easy install
Not being an electrician, I needed a light switch that could indicate if the attic lights were illuminated. I ordered the switch with the hopes of installing it myself. After reading the instructions, I was able to easily install the switch. It is very simple. This is a very good product that served my purposes.

Looking for "Illuminated Off" in red? Try this...
I searched far and wide for an "Illuminated Off" toggle switch in red, in order to mark a "back up" circuit in my garage that's not switched at the garage panel. Having a separate circuit for basic lights allows me to take my garage panel down for service, and still have light, as well as an outlet to plug in to. But I wanted an "Illuminated Off" red switch to remind me that there's still juice in the wall box, even if the panel is shut down.Well, I'm 99% convinced that the "Illuminated Off" switch doesn't exist, but this "Illuminated On" switch does me one better: by wiring it up with my hot and my switched (the two black wires) reversed, the red light stays lit all the time, regardless of whether the switch is on or off, and that perfectly serves my needs (I really don't care if it stays lit while the lights it controls are on).Installation does require a neutral connection, so that makes it just one step more complicated than a normal switch installation. The light does not appear to be an LED, but instead I can see some spiral filament windings. If it's anything like Leviton's other illuminated switches, I can vouch that they last a really long time (15 years and counting in my case), so I'm not too worried about this switch needing to be replaced anytime soon.

Perfect for my application
Installed to switch my exhaust fan in workshop which is behind a filter assembly so it's difficult to tell if it is on. This is a very well made 20AMP switch, the instruction sheet was precise and easy to understand including diagrams for each of the wiring options. I did have to photograph the sheet on my phone and up-size it a bit but that is my eyes, not their fault. Yeah, a little pricey, what isn't nowadays. This is a very nice switch and I suspect will last as long as I need it. I wired as a pilot (indicator light on when load is energized) and single switch, it can also be wired several other ways.

Great Lighted Handle switch when ON!
This is a product that does exactly what it says and it does it properly. It is a lighted when ON version of the switch. I bought these for the areas in my house where the switch is controlling lights where you cannot see the light status without opening a door (could be an outside light, for instance). Thus, if the handle of the switch is lit, you know you left the light on outside. These are not for use as night lights in a bathroom, for that type of switch seek out the version that is lighted when off.For those that are curious about wiring. The BLACK screw is for your Line-In. The Brass screw is for your load (nowhere does Leviton or any other manufacturer identify them in their wiring diagrams.

Pilot Light for an Air Compressor
The air compressor in my shop is directly below our 2nd floor guest bedroom. There must be a tiny air leak because it frequently starts somewhat unexpectedly any time of day or night, and it's LOUD ... like meteorite has hit the house.Decided recently to add a pilot light switch so that I can turn it on/off somewhat more conveniently. The handle is bright enough to be noticable when I'm turning all the lights in for the evening. Thought about other options (e.g. motion sensor) but this seems to be the best option for now.I stared at the wiring instructions for a while before I decided to just read the other reviews. The instructions that come with the switch are a bit unclear and the font size is so small anyway it's difficult (for me) to read anyway.A similar Hubble pilot light switch costs a bit less but it was out-of-stock at my local big box so I bought this on Amazon. It's rated 20 amps so definitely adequate for most household applications, including a shop air compressor.

Well-built for heavy loads
I have found the quality of this line of Leviton products is beyond reproach. It comes with clear instructions for various wiring schemes. Color-coded terminals eliminate guesswork. Installation is easy. The red indicator needs a neutral connection, so this switch is suitable when installed upstream of the load, or when installed downstream and the box is fed by a 3-wire cable (black, white, and red), as the code now requires. The switch indicator will not work if the switch is installed downstream of the load in a box fed by a 2-wire cable (black and white).
