Finally, a true deep black without turning icing bitter or gray
This Coal Black Liqua-Gel is my go-to for achieving rich, jet-black frosting and fondant. The color develops quickly without needing huge amounts, which means no strange taste in the finished product. It also blends smoothly without streaks, making it ideal for buttercream, royal icing, or even macaron batter. A must-have for Halloween treats, elegant cakes, or whenever you need dramatic color.Pros:• Produces deep black color without excessive product• No bitter aftertaste• Smooth blending with no streaks• Works in multiple mediums (icing, fondant, batter)Cons:• Can stain hands and counters if not careful• Color may deepen over time, so plan ahead for shade

True Black Buttercream Without the Weird Taste!
I’m just a home baker, but this black gel food coloring made me feel like a pro. It turned my buttercream a deep, true black without that dreaded dark gray I’ve gotten from other brands and it didn’t change the taste at all.I also used it to color rice paper fans for my husband’s birthday cake. I just added the gel to a deep dish of water, dipped the rice paper, and let them dry, super easy and the color came out bold and even. The buttercream and decorations turned out exceptional, and I couldn’t be happier.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Highly recommend for bakers of any level.

Vibrant, Professional-Grade Color for Bakers
This violet Liqua-Gel transformed my baking projects with its intense, blendable pigment. A single drop delivers a rich lilac, while a quarter teaspoon creates deep grape shades—perfect for macarons, buttercream, and fondant. Unlike liquid dyes, it won’t thin batters or alter textures. The squeeze bottle offers precise control, and the color bakes true without fading. The gel is odorless and tasteless in tested recipes (vanilla cake, royal icing). However, it stains surfaces and skin easily, so handle carefully. At this price point, it outperforms grocery-store alternatives in vibrancy and consistency.A must-have for home bakers and pros alike. Just store upright to prevent leaks!

Perfect red velvet
I use this stuff for red velvet cupcakes and I’m ordering my second bottle. It works very well. You do have to use quite a bit to get the desired color but that’s just part of the recipe. The best art is the gel doesn’t add to much liquid which can make your cake batter soggy and not rise properly.

A little goes a long way
It gets blacker with time and I used too much. The kids loved their black tongues but I felt I might have poisoned them!

Scared of Black frosting!
I was definitely impressed. My daughter wanted a black frosted cake and I was hesitant because everything I’ve tried leaves a bad aftertaste to get a true black. I mostly use homemade buttercream but in this instance I had very little time so I used Duncan Hines Whipped Fluffy White. I thought it would be fine as I was just frosting a heart shaped cake with no fancy piping work. I admit, I was so surprised, I didn’t have to use as much colorant as I thought and no one noticed any flavor difference. That’s amazing in itself. I’m sharing this so anyone home baking feels good ordering this. Even in store bought frosting it worked great. If you’re thinking about it, buy it, you won’t be disappointed!I included a pic of leftover frosting. It looks a little blue in the pic but not in real life! Happy decorating!
