We use these lights for product shots and for video blogging. They are plenty bright and seem durable. A good value.

[COURTESY SPOILER: If you’re reading this because you’re trying to decide, *buy the 680RS*, which is superior and costs less. Not sure how that happened. I mean, they’re both made by the same company, and sold on the same platforms (even on GVM’s website, the 680RS costs less). If you purchased the 800D, and can’t return it, you’ve got nothing to regret. It’s perfectly functional, and you’ll hardly notice the difference.]GVM VS GVM. You honestly can't go wrong with either of these products for the price, but (assuming you're seeing similar pricing as me) you might have noticed that GVM 680RS is actually cheaper than GVM 800D despite the 800D being a smaller and older item. Strange, but that's how these things work out sometimes.I was so perplexed by this, I bought them both just to see what the actual difference was. Well, here's the breakdown:GVM 800DBulbs 252 LED Beads (168 LED Beads and 84 RGB Beads)Size of actual LED panel 9inch x 8.5inches (approximate)GVM 680RSBulbs 560 LED Beads(220 RGB LEDs, 170 cool white LEDs, 170 warm white LEDs)Size of actual LED panel 11inch x 8.5inches (approximate)You can look up the lumens/lux. Those still seem to be 'terms of art'. In the meantime, I have some real-world tests I did with both panels.As you can see from the pictures and Davinci Resolve charts above, GVM 680RS is a good 12-15% brighter. So from a technical standpoint, that makes the GVM 680RS a steal, but on the other hand, you might not notice a difference unless they were put side by side. They both function the same.They both have the strange carrying case that was clearly designed by a room filled with engineers who didn’t bother to consult one single human being. The case requires you to take out half of the equipment before you can open the other side of the case, and take out the other half. Still better than the bad old days of rolling around a 200lb hard case. And at these prices, they could ship with loose canvas bags, and I still wouldn’t hesitate to purchase. To put it in perspective, I spent $600 on my last set of 3 GVM LEDs (520S) that were not as powerful, and had no RGB, and that was an amazing price in 2018.Photo’s of brightness test was taken with my phone in manual mode:Pixel 6f/1.8shutter 1/250ISO-400

I've had the pleasure of using them on numerous video and photo shoots, and they provide just the right amount of balanced lighting that suits my taste perfectly.One of the standout features for me is the ability to control them right from my phone. It's a fantastic touch because I don't have to constantly run back and forth to make adjustments while I'm shooting. It saves me time and effort.Another thing I absolutely love is the carrying case they come with. It's incredibly convenient and well-designed. I also love that they can be powered wirelessly or with a cord. Whether I'm traveling or on the go, I can rely on their durability and simplicity.I highly recommend giving these lights a try. They have all the features you need, and they'll definitely elevate your photography and videography game.

These GVM lights are becoming my favorite lights. They are very bright and versatile. I have been able to use these for almost any occasions. They can work as a key light, fill, back or just background light. The app could use some improvement but it does work.They don't take up a lot of space, but the case that it comes with is useless. I had take all of them out and put them in a milk crate. They fit perfectly and I can fit 7-8 of them in one milk crate.I wish GVM would design a better case for these kits. The way the cases are right now, the light and stands sits in them too loose. They are not protected at all. The cases are absolutely useless the way they are. They're better off not even including the cases, because transporting the lights in the cases will eventually damage them.

These lights are amazing. I run a four hour program online, and the lights are on the entire time ON BATTERY. As a matter of fact, they have done well for me for over five hours straight.My skin tone is always perfect as I can adjust every aspect of the lighting. I take them on the road and regardless of where I am, they create a beautiful atmosphere.

lights OK but for a little more price you can get a much better setup for your starter YT video setup or product photography

We use these at work to shoot short videos. They are easy to use and work well for our purpose. Great price point.

It's a great product. I use it everyday. There's a learning curve but it's a short one. I would buy it again. If you are a content creator you need this. I create content on YouTube and this is absolutely a integral part of my creation pipeline.
