Lately, I have been anchoring, tying up with friends and just floating. In the past, I never used an anchor chain but noticed that it could be a little difficult to get the anchor to catch (I use an 8 lb. Danforth anchor for a 21' 4,000 lb. boat). I installed this chain and noticed an immediate difference. I dropped the anchor, reversed about 10 yards and it caught immediately. I was surprised at how tight and secure it was. I remained in place for about 5-6 hours with no adjustment necessary. Pulling up was a breeze. I thought maybe it was beginner's luck, but same results the next 3 times I used it. The PVC coating is excellent and will provide good protection. It is a little stiff, but that's the way a coated chain is going to be. Less money than buying it in store and I didn't even have to get out of my chair.
