## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is the needle the size of an embroidery needle? Will it take very fine thread?I embroider into canvas-backed paper and it's hard to push the needle.**
A: the round shaft (goes in awl) of #4 needle is approx. 2 mm (0.077") diameter; the needle shaft itself is approx. 1.33 mm (0.055").  Awl sewing is not meant for "very fine thread" but needle obviously would "take it" as the thread hole accepts heavy duty canvas sewing thread and anything smaller.

**Q: I need to repair the throatlatch on a horse bridle. Should I use the #4 or is #8 ok?**
A: I’d say that having both is better. You never know if you’re going to need it and they are inexpensive. I prefer using the #4 on just about anything.

**Q: Does this have a groove or is it just a knock off that stole a picture from the speedy stitcher website?**
A: I did pull my ol speedy stitcher out for your sake. And yes, the needle has a groove.

**Q: Description suggests pkg is the awl and two needles - is that right? What is the other needle size (besides #4)?**
A: I did not get the #4 needle with the Awl. It was a accessory. The two I got were a lot bigger. About the size of the shank on the #4 and one has a bend in the end.
