I’m so sick of cheap buffers that fall apart after only a couple uses. Is this one quality?

It's good for a few uses. I bought both the block and the refills so, as buffers go, I'm quite a bit of money into this thing. I was very happy with it for the first couple of uses. I had assumed it would outlast other cheaper buffer blocks. Nope, it doesn't. Huge disappointment. I won't be dropping any more money on this brand at this price ~ that's for sure.

What is the grit on the silver file side? Want to make sure it'll do the job. Sometimes they're too weak....

Great question. The grit is 180 but please keep in mind this buffer is intended to use on the upper part of your nail and not as a nail file. Its purpose is to provide a perfect look and protection to your nail and not to shape the edge. We have a separate nail file package for that. Can you use nail polish after using the buffer?

No,because the sole purpose of the buffer is to shine the nails without having to use nail polish. If you did use nail polish after using the buffer,it will more than likely cause the polish to peel/chip immediately. In order for the nail polish to adhere to the nail plate it has to be dry (us rubbing alcohol) free from oils or shine buffing.

can this be used on acrylics too?

Yes, It is especially helpful after acrylic nails, but also works great to keep healthy nails strong. It smooths out ridges and splits, removes stains and provides a protective moisture barrier to help your nails heal and grow.
